Yeah, the Cold War lasted from the late 1940s to the late 1980s and international tensions were extremely high during those decades. The Cuban Missile Crisis almost caused a nuclear war. -------------- Even if a country does declare war, it wouldn't be a World War. It would be everyone versus IS. Major powers like the USA and Russia could take them out with a couple of nukes. But the consequences of that could potentially cause a World War. Unlikely though. Dayman 6,252 Posted December 3, 2015 Share Posted December 3, 2015 There is a lack of perspective of just how big World War I and II were. We are nowhere near having a World War III. War like what we see now has been a common thing across all of human history - believe it or not we in what is conisdered to be one of the most peaceful times in all of recorded human history - most of the world doesn't have to worry about another country just showing up and taking over destroying their way of life as they knew it out of nowhere. Let me put it this way - If you're able to comfortably browse the internet, go grab a cheeseburger and maybe go to an amusement park if you want than we are not even close to a World War. Which is why we have seen: "The Cold War" > Korea > Vietnam War > Cambodia > Latin American wars throughout the 80s > Iraq / Kuwait 1990 > Afghanistan 2001 > Iraq 2003 > endless war is basically the ultimate goal of the military industrial complex.
