I don't get the American angst. Actually I was shocked how minimal the muslim population is there. I still think though 25.000 are way too few for large countries like Canada while countries like Germany can't keep up with their 1,5 million+ refugees. I'm still favoring that we take me more, but it's egoistical of so many western countries to look away.

this 25,000 was a promise made by liberals that they'd take in that many before end of 2015 but they only got elected middle of October so that's 25,000 in just 2 and a half months!!!!

We have other refugees were also taking in not from Syria so u gotta consider that

 

also your population is more than double of Canada's so u can absorb more with less shock

 

lastly ur birth rate are much lower. In Canada we have more natural growth just from our own births alone.

Size is irrelevant. U have lots of empty space too that isn't the issue

Canada may be huge but most of it is totally empty without anything built on it for ppl to survive with

 

90% of our population is concentrated within 160miles of US border cuz most of Canada is so cold, empty etc

Yes... But takes money and time

 

were already accepting more immigrants and refuges per capita than most nations. On top of that our birth rates are higher than most developed nations

 

u can only absorb so many at once while being stable

 

we accept about 250,000 general immigrants per year, plus refugees (Syrians are new additions). Thats on top of a higher birth rate than most developed countries

 

And were only 35 million ppl

 

theres a limit to how many we can absorb per year. 

 

Although im sure the number can be higher, ur making it sound like were doing a crap job when in fact werw doing more propprtionally than most nations

 

the US without a change in government, and with 9X the population of Canada for instance is only accepting 10,000
