The question is "why has there never been an Asian act to breakthrough?"

YOu didn't even mention Shakira, but you mentioned Demi and Selena as Latino acts?!

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

A few Latin artists only became famous in the US because they released music in English.

And where's Paulina Rubio and Shakira among them in the OP?

Imo singing in English alone isn't enough to make you famous. The label has to do a lot promotion and the artists themselves need to appeal to the public. I think if you want to breakthrough in a different market, you have to come up with something new that the market doesn't already have.

Kpop and Jpop groups are unlikely to become successful in the US (which is the one music market that really matters, if the point is to become famous and make a s--tload of money), because the cultural differences are just enormous...what makes these acts beloved in their countries (wether it's a different way of dressing or having 12 girls in a group) is the very thing that makes the american audience not take them seriously...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

And music industry in general are just racist towards Asian acts as of now. Still hoping someone will make it soon, such as 4th Impact.
