I watched trl and vh1 all the time, too and never saw a lick of the Madonna stuff until Slave/Me Against the Music. And people more or less just mocked her, looked at her as a sloppy s-x icon and treated her like a passing fad. Madonna (and Gaga) was never treated or looked at that way even in the beginning so the comparisons are dumb. Anyway, The Fame > BOMT. There's just no other option imo Exactly, my friend (I mean that sincerely, btw... I would only have such in depth pop diva discussion among friends, lol).... But you are simply old enough to remember Britney! I'm old enough to remember Madonna AND Britney. And they ain't that different. From day 1 of Britney's success. The world/media has treated them one in the same. Which is why the two of us have found ourselves together here at GGD. Lady Gaga has capitalized on that formula ---- and transcended it. Making the same style of art, but in such a more meaningful way.

In the OP, you asked our opinion, and now you argue each and every one of them... bye felicia It's called a discussion. I'm just pointing out the lies sis Gaga

She's way beyond Britney's stuff though. BOMT is kinda like Confident, My Everything or Revival. Just nothing special at all and kind of meaningless. Thanks for listening to the truth though sis Gaga
ReidOne 12,427
...and for the record, musically ----- The Fame >>>>>>>>>>> BOMT. I remember buying BOMT the day it was released on CD and thinking "this album sucks!" ... tho I was obsessed with "BOMT" and "Crazy (Stop Remix)" (which had yet to be released at that point). ReidOne 12,427
BOMT is pretty terrible as an album, at the end of the day. Britney never had a decent album until 2001's 'Britney'.
Carmex 964
The Fame was tied in with TFM sales, are they not? The Fame didn't sell all of that on it's own lol. Anyway, no. Britney + BOMT was bigger and is more remembered nowadays.

Gaga has completely transcended Madonna!! Why else do you think Elton John, Sting, U2 and Tony Bennett are collaborating with her this year?
ReidOne 12,427
The only bit of acting that Madonna has done that is superior to Gaga in AHS is 'League of Their Own'... and that's only because she was next to Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Rosie & Lori Petty! :D #SorryEvita

Although I think I love those two albums by nostalgia, not because they are good, i mean, i dont even have them anymore, so sad 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 • 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗲 • 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗲-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿 • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻

Killa 15,556
I think sales aren't enough to evidence to support this case. I was 9 years old when Britney became what she did and i remember it all too well!! I love Gaga with all my life but The Fame Era didnt had the same impact, by a long shot than Britney's Baby one more time

Baby One More Time is the more iconic song. And if petty numbers are any indication, Lady Gaga's top hits are forgotten since her YouTube views are tragic, whereas BOMT became VEVO Certified this year
