It had nothing to do with their religion. So according to what they said there is no point for them to where it here in Canada considering there is no sand and the point was to avoid blowing sand. "If such thing happens in another country I'd be okay, an indian woman wearing Sari in India is okay, an afghan woman wearing niqab (burqa) in Afghanistan is okay, but you can't dictate your culture on a foreign country. Furthermore, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, France and other countries chose to ban niqab for a reason, you can't hide behind a blanket, refuse policemen to verify your identity because "men can't touch women in your culture" and force these countries to change their laws to adapt to you, you have to assimilate to the territory you're in, or leave it. And it's not a big demand if you ask a person to permenantly show their face, it's not like you're asking them to permanently show their privates so I don't see why you get tickled about this subject.." Then that leads me to believe that it has become a suppression thing. lol there is no sand in the middle east unless you go to the desert and people in the Middle East dont even wear niqab! its only few minority groups in Saudi Arabia and some gulf countries. This tradition started out from living in the desert but its now part of culture. Women who wear niqab are usually old with no authority figure to force them and they wont get shamed for not wearing it as it is the norm to not wear it.
