Turing Pharmaceuticals has reported a $14.6 million net loss last quarter after hiking the price of a decades-old AIDS d--g 5,000%.

CEO Martin Shkreli drew the scorn of the internet after he bought the rights to Daraprim and raised the price from $13.50 to $750 overnight.

Daraprim is used to treat the toxoplasma gondii parasite, which can cause seizures, blindness, and neurological damage in people with compromised immune systems.

After a fierce backlash, Shkreli said he would lower the price of the d--g, but another company started selling the d--g for $1 a pill.

The company spent $7 million on d--g research last quarter, which contributed to losses.

Illuminati

im sure they partially increased the price to raise money for research which wouldve ended up allowing them to come up with even better medicine. it's just that they picked a very cruel way to do so

Economy

That was a dumb and selfish move from the part of the CEO

i dont know how large this company is but i feel compeled to mention many of the large Corporations people hate on people forget are public

The CEOs that run it and a few administrators are not the entire company. Its made up of many owners including average joes.

All of you who work, even if u never bough stocks and mutual funds, just the money youve deducted for retirement pension already means you are involved in ownig little portions of these big companies

Corporations affect everyone not just the rich
