Canada has long made most export wealth with resources: Oil, Coal, Natural Gas, Gold, Silver Copper, Zinc, Uranium, Potash, Diamanonds etc But according to some experts, Canada should bet its economic fortunes on the most renewable stuff of all... Agriculture and Water!!! With Global Warming making farming more and more difficult and fresh water becoming more and more scarse, thats exactly what Canada has a huge amount of. In fact Canada has over 600,000 lakes on top of rivers an underground resevoirs. Frash Water is called by many scientists the oil of the mid-late 21st century Much farming done in the United States will become increasing difficult and expensive to maintain. Doing agriculture in Canada requires hydroponics greenhouse because of harsh climate, but ditching natural resources and mining for agriculture don't really make any sense; because benefit-cost ratio of agriculture is unbelievably small to that of export of refined or raw energy sources, or mining. That is the reason why that poorest countries are the ones whose economy is mostly dependent on agriculture. EDIT: Whole text is very speculative rather than being based on concrete facts...
