CNN anchor blames French Muslims for failure to prevent attacks

Yasser Louati is a representative for the Collective Against Islamophobia in France. And in an early Sunday morning interview, he became a representative for the Collective Against Islamophobia on Cable Television.

CNN anchors John Vause and Isha Sesay spent a good six-plus minutes blaming French Muslims either for not doing enough before the attacks or for not doing enough after the attacks. “Why is it that no one within the Muslim community there in France knew what these guys were up to?” asked Vause of Louati. “Because it seems to me that this was a pretty big plan. Surely someone beyond the seven guys who’ve been killed over the last 48 hours would have to have known something and that was probably within the Muslim community but yet no one said anything.”

In the year 2015, a Muslim rep hearing that question would be excused for simply unplugging from the interview and allowing the host to languish in his own ignorance. Louati, however, did his best to combat bigotry: “Sir, the Muslim community has nothing to do with these guys. Nothing. We cannot justify ourselves for the actions of someone who just claims to be Muslim. Our secret services knew about these guys and, again, just like during the January attacks, it turns out they were all on a black list somewhere somehow on a desk. So right now we can’t take responsibility for anything. Right now–”

Vause wasn’t happy with the answer. “What is the responsibility within the Muslim community to identify what is happening within their own ranks when it comes to people who are obviously training and preparing to carry out mass murder?” he asked.

Louati repeated the theme of his first answer: “No, no, no, no, sir — they were not from our ranks.”

I don't understand why some people feel the need to blame the entire Muslim community. How the hell are regular Muslims gonna know what these people are up to? 

I always see people saying "Why aren't Muslims standing up against these terrorists?" .... umm what exactly do you want them to do?

Being Muslim doesn't mean you are in the know about what an extremist minority are doing  Obviously a group like the one involved in the attacks would be very tight knit and would keep their plans very very very private from everyone not in that tiny circle. They sound ridiculous

The most terrifying thing about these attacks is the possibility of France really going off the edge and falling to Islamophobia. The jump decisions they've already made to take away the rights of suspected terrorists in France, allowing for deportations with little investigation thanks to their 'state of emergency' is almost reflective of a post 9/11 America.

Is it normal that some people are being dickheads about this situation? Eradicate Islam and all the Muslims, do you think the world would then be a peaceful planet? Some are blaming the wrong guys.

Although the female journalist asked a good question, why is it that those who go to fight with ISIS are from the Muslim community?

There is a failure within the Muslim community itself, to teach peace and love and modernity to their kids, these kids don't become fanatics like that for no reason. Only few Muslims would extol freedom of speech and women's independency and freedom to show their hair and wear makeup and dresses if they want to, and the right to eat pork and drink wine and assimilate to the culture of the country they live in. A very small percentage of Muslims only would be okay with that.

How is that a good question? ISIS present themselves as saviors of muslims in their "khilafa", why would you expect buddhists or hindus to join them?? wtf.

No. When you look at the background of these attackers, most of them lived in poor ghetto areas, they were small criminals, known to police, had very little to do with religion. There is also discrimination of Muslims in Western countries, which leads to isolation, which makes them potential targets for ISIS. They are often recruited via social media, they are advised to cut relationship with their parents and join to "islamic state". It's not always the parents fault, they can't know where their grown up children are 24/7 or who they talk to.

Are you not seeing news about muslim women pushed to trains, kicked to stomach, with their headscarfs pulled off? Muslims kids being arrested for building a clock, being bullied and called terrorists in school and on the street? Have you not heard of difficulties of getting a job in some countries if your name is Ahmed or Muhammad?

How many muslim families you know living in West and their stories about discrimination they're faced with every day?

Yes, West is partly to be blamed because living in ghetto areas, feeling isolated and not belonging anywhere makes you an easy target for any extremist group.

Come on, don't be so naive? Don't you know that by being a Muslim you automatically develop a six sense of telepathy and among other things you are automatically tuned about potential terrorist attack in case you want to join in. So of course Muslim are responsible because we are all aware that we are all the spoke person of our community and should be accountable for that. For example I am French so everything i do is based on my Frenchness, I am a sort of ambassador and when French people do bad things I should be help accountable for it. Doesn't it make sense to you? I assume that American were doing that, so this anchor for example should be held accountable for what Bush did in Iraq, how come he couldn't plan the mess it would be, he is a journalist after all, he must have known people to inform us about it!
