Chris Christie: U.S. shouldn't let in Syrian orphans

Muslim? That doesn't mean they are Syrian. Why would the parents have to be Muslim anyway? 

Don't you think that one day these children would like to be around people from their own country, their own city. They should have other family members they could find one day...cousins, aunts, uncles. Moving them thousands of miles away from everything they know isn't best, unless there are families waiting to adopt them. 

As I originally said, IF there are parents waiting to adopt them, then that would work. And they don't have to be Muslim. If they don't have families signed on to adopt (not foster) these orphans, then it would be better if they stayed closer to their country and people from their country. Certainly some European countries have foster systems? 

Why don't the millions of Syrians, who are now in safe countries, adopt an orphaned child?

Yes muslim, because muslim communities around the world were all these years sending food, children clothing, medicine and money to Syria and refugee camps around Syria. And you can often read on social media how much they would want to help all those children.

And if you are taking 10.000 refugees there are other Syrian families who would adopt them too and they would be surrounded by "their people of similar culture".

I think that more developed countries should share responsibility for these refugees, especially the ones who were more involved in this war than others.

Our politicians can barely take care of us here in the States so what makes it right to make it more miserable for those poor orphaned children?  I'm sure there are more alternatives to help give love and care to the young ones rather than send them where they won't be taken care of.  It's very sad but until we get our act together, for the better I hope, matters will be brighter for everyone.

Adoption doesn't really work that way in the US, unless it is a private adoption. Suitable parents are matched with babies, without consideration of religious background. 

There are millions of Syrian families in Europe, they can adopt these orphans and keep them close to home.

I didn't say they have to be muslim, but they would be the most interested in adopting them.

You really want them to stay far away from USA. lol

If the orphans are babies or under the age of two, there would be interested and available families of different backgrounds. 

No, I just think it isn't a good idea unless there are waiting families ready to adopt them. If they are older and going to be in a foster care system, one that is in their end of the world would be a better choice.
