The manufacturs activity index, consumer confidence and business hiring intentions have all plummeted. Additionally data so far suggests further contraction in GDP

Unless numbers are later revised upwards, Japan has now entered its 4th recession since the financial crisis 7 years ago meaning on average each recession has been spaced less than 2 years apart

With the worlds highest debt burden in the world at 230% of GDP (annual economic output) and a stagnant exonomy for 25-30 years, Japan is desperately trying to find ways to revive growth

Poor Japan :(

Wonder how this will affect the world economy.

Well it means less demand for goods from Japan

but this isnt new. Its a situation theyve faced aince befire most of us were born.

A stagnant economy failing to take off is such old news its hardly talked about anymore. Even a small European Country unexpectedly getting bad data affects speculation markets/stocks more than Japan at this point

At least they invented QE to help lift inflation and create emergency liquidity. The US and Europe used that scheme they came up with to help prevent a frozen credit crunch and major deflation
