How much does a song like Applause cost to make?

I know it's a silly question, but bare with me through this rough time.

Just to satisfy my personal knowledge, I'm trying to figure out how much a song like 'Applause' costs to make (songwriting, editing, producing, NO promo nothing after-production).

Let's say it's DJWS who wrote it entirely, and produced it. How much would that cost for example?

I want all the fake insiders in this thread right now, all those whose moms' aunts' grandma's gardner work at Interscope.

I'd say a couple of thousand of dollars. The equipment they use is no garage band. And the mastering process. And the studio equipment. And professional software.

+ I doubt DJWS did it for free. He is Gaga's friends but he has bills too.

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

From a view of a producer, it takes a lot of money to make a good quality track, especially for one of the biggest names in pop music.

Any precise idea? Like, could you guess a range? :flower:

I'm actually really interested in all of that. They said Rih's album costs like a few million dollars to make and I don't really understand where all the money goes.

I read about producing songs. It costs 45.000-80.000$ mixing, writing... Its expesnsive, studios, ... And price for promos and everything to make song a hit... around 1 million $.

Adele's new album costed 10 million dollars for 11 tracks, so...

She's Adele though

Didn't she also have to do like two or three revisions to the album bc her label didn't like her vision or concept the first few times?

That's what intrigues me, like obviously they're not talking about promotion, so it does cost 1 million dollar to make a steady song

And considering Applause has 7 writers and 3 producers (not including Gaga) that thing must have cost more than an island

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

thousands, i'd say around 4,000, this includes DAW software, VSTs, Synthesizers, Mastering equipment, etc.
