Clearly she's opting for a more mature and adult image now and it's just funny that she chose now to do it. OT: Gaga's impact is real, that's all. Katy has a long history of "coincidentally" doing things right after Gaga does them (crazy, over the top looks in 2010 and 2011, mermaid in 2011, mechanical horse, etc). It's not just Katy though. I mean, you can't blame her for having inspiration from the most influential figure in music today.
