Probably her most famous dress, the Meat Dress is made entirely of raw beef. She wore it to promote civil rights; if we cannot exist as equals with the same rights as everyone else, we may as well be worth the meat on our bones. Lady Gaga wore another version of the Meat Dress on her Born This Way tour while she sang Americano, as well as another version of the dress for the cover of Vogue Magazine."

The Orbit

Lady Gaga's orbit is her signature piece from the Fame Monster era. It is featured in her music video for Bad Romance, in The Monster Ball promotional poster, and she wore another version of it while she sang Bad Romance in The Monster Ball 2.0. In addition, she wore a headpiece version of the orbit which went around her head in some interviews. The album it is associated with touches on some of Gaga's fears, Bad Romance being the fear of love and intimate relationships.

Seashell Bikini

Lady Gaga's seashell bikini is inspired by the famous painting "The Birth of Venus" by Botticelli. It celebrates s-xual freedom, female beauty, and and art. Gaga wore the seashell bikini as a way of promoting her album ARTPOP, which was about the combination of high art and pop culture. The seashell bikini also made appearances in the ARTPOP tour during the performance of her song Venus, in her music video for her song Applause, the iTunes Festival, and many on screen performances.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Dressed in drag

Lady Gaga created the alter ego Jo Calderone during the Born This Way era. The character is featured in the music video for her song You and I. In the video, Jo sits on top of a piano that Gaga is playing, and in the end, she kisses her male self. In a live performance of You and I, Jo is represented as Gaga's ex boyfriend. He delivers a monologue in which he states that she was too crazy and he did not know how to handle her weirdness. Once the monologue is over, he sings You and I to show he still loves her. Jo Calderone is supposed to represent self love and respect, no matter how difficult it may seem.

The Living Dress

The Living Dress is named so because the wings, headdress, and collar flutter and move at their own control, and other parts of the dress open and close. Lady Gaga wore The Living Dress during The Monster Ball 2.0 as she performed her song So Happy I Could Die. There is not much explanation for the dress, but it symbolizes how she becomes one with her creativity and gives her art life.
