SISTERV 3,887
Actually the common opinion from people who want to like her or the GP in general is, she needs to be how she was in 2009 sonically and visually so I'd say if she wants success she needs to create an album and aesthetic like a modernised version of The Fame. I'm not on about lyrically or message wise, but sonically she needs to update the electronic sound on radio like she did before in America. So i'd say Disco or House is her best bet as it's upcoming in America. Negative. She does not need to recreate a modernized version of the Fame. The GP might want that, but the GP didn't know they wanted The Fame (or even an artist like Gaga) in 2008. It took a sense like Gaga to pinch the air of the future and make it happen. And Im not saying that because I'm one of those fans that thinks it's bad to recreate something. Or refer to something. Or go back to your original sound. I'm not one of those fans. Im saying it because the sound of The Fame was a byproduct of why she was successful. What intrinsically gave her such a massive record in 09' was the relentless unashamed forward nature of the image that was backed up by the catchy nature of The Fame. If Gaga wants to have another The Fame, she should avoid creating another The Fame.
SISTERV 3,887
Music doesn't really need to be good anymore to be successful. It's all about promotion. For example if GUY and Applause switched places they would of charted differently. If GUY was a lead single it would of charted at #4 and if Applause would of been released 4 months later with little to no promotion it would of flopped. not sure if that's true.a lot of the critics actually said G.U.Y. Was the first standout on the album. If Gaga had released it a week before Roar and it had been GUY......we'd have a newer #1. It's not just promo....it's also timing and quality

Coldplay 217
The only reason that she "needs" to do anything that you stated is if she wants to be popular (not succesful; popular). And seeing her latest interviews and statements, I doubt that this is anywhere near the top of her priority list. Regardless of that, I think the C2C era and such have swayed her towards that more "timeless" sound anyway. I personally would like to see that as well, but I'm not counting on anything with Gaga. She'll do what makes her feel the best, and I'm glad that she will . I actually think that it IS her priority this time. If I recall correctly she said in an interview something along the lines of "the public doesn't want this, they want this". So she is thibking ablut what the public will like. kiwifromvenus 508
I'm definitely not the only fan who found her pretentious and i can assure you that many non fans had the exact same opinion (many articles, music forums, friends/people i know etc).Someone who denies the fact that the ARTPOP era made her look pretentious to many people (not everyone obviously), lives in their own world. TBH she is just being her. She doesn't need to impress nor does she need to water down or spike herself up. She just needs to naturally evolve as she has been doing. I see nothing wrong with her eras on her behalf. Its beautiful to see an artist overcome so many obstacles, from Fame to Depression. The interview where she "fell asleep" was beautiful! I could feel her main, I could feel her trying to hide it through her art and just in general...ahhh I just loved it, I can't. ARTPOP is misunderstood. The era gets bashed so much. At the end of the day, people turned away because they weren't interested or they ditched her or didn't understand. Its nattural. She didn't do anything wrong. ARTPOP was NOT a mistake. She doesn't NEED to do anything a certain way to build back up. ARTPOP is a forever movement that will always flow within her career! Shes doing the right thing by being her, learning more about herself, not trying to impress people and give people what they want, where when they get what they want they aren't satisfied - the whole when people want new material; something different, they get that and then say shes not like she used to be...OR she does what she used to be and they say shes too the same. F that. Just come into the new album era with a fresh perspective and frame of mind and you'll enjoy her music. Thats what I have done EVERYTIME and I have NEVER been dissapointed by her. Its more a reflection on us than her. Stop comparing and just enjoy.
SLAYing 3,114
The ONLY reason ARTPOP was not as successful as her previous era's was the lack of management & promotion of the album as a whole, and her being depressed ... Songs like ( Gypsy , Do what you want , Fashion , MANiCURE , Dope ) could have had videos / single and would have slayed , Gaga is a visual artist and people love seeing a visual representation to her songs to love them more.. I think all this is definitely being taken care of with LG5.. We all should just keep the faith.. Paws Up <3 Instagram : saurabhatia_
VforVendetta 2,024
I agree but how do you judge what is authentc and what not? I am a big Adele fan but Hello is bland and uninteresting imo. Yes she is having huge suucces but she was gonna have it anyway.MJH is 10 times the song Hello is imo eventhough it's EDM (a gerne that I am not very fond of at all).Gaga needs to release an inspiring album that will touch people, yes I agree but I'm not gonna act clever and say that I know what that is. Imo she needs a more acoustic and vocal sound because it's something new for her but in the end she knows what she must do. I would be dissapointed by an album that sounds like her previos albums though...

judxs 762
I agree with the idea that it needs to be something personal. How many gaga songs can you name that you can actually relate to? i honestly wish she'd take a serious detour away from constantly singing about money, fame or even art. I understand The Fame had a specific sort of topic, but the fact that we got songs like Donatella and Jewels n' Drugs on ARTPOP (an album that's supposed to be about the 'music not the bling') really confuses me.Born This Way is her most coherent and meaningful album in my opinion, but it still didn't relate to the GP enough. Let's just hope the next one does.

Four albums with these were more than enough, it's time for her to move on.I want a dark, classy and fresh album with new and relatable subjects. Lord Ryry 3,367
I trust Gaga, her music never fails to amaze me, personally there is not a single song that I don't like, (maybe Jewels&Drugs). I just hope her next album has at least one massive hit song like bad romance that will gain a billion views on you tube. Something catchy and fresh and new :) I'm just exited to hear anything to be honest.
Bitter 3,640
I've been wishing she would make songs like Madonna's "The Power Of Goodbye", "Sky Fits Heaven" or the Spice Girls' "Viva Forever", "Naked": emotional, grown-up, credible pop. +frozen. YES YES YES I've been waiting for this type of songs for so long
BornSimon 4,818
+frozen. YES YES YES I've been waiting for this type of songs for so long Maybe, just MAYBE, she wouldn't suit that kind of song, because her voice is too powerful so maybe she'd oversing them, but I just LOVE that kind of song... like Madonna's "Time Stood Still" and yeah, "Frozen". I just want something really dramatic and heartfelt and beautifully sang. Of course she can still be fun and rock the (gay) clubs but it'd be great to see more layers now that she's almost 30. I'm sure she has it in her. I still think "Dance In The Dark" is the closest she ever got to pop perfection.
