Far from it.

Yes, the song was average, but it turned out to be such an iconic single in her discography. Without it being an official single we would not got the music video.

Not to mention it was well received by critics and successfully charted everywhere.

There is no "mistake" on that iconic album.

In my messy era.

It was released only because Beyonce was on it...

Not a bad song tho, just not fitting TFM

It fitted the concept of the album though.

The whole album was about the dark side of fame and Gaga's fears. Telephone is about suffocation.

In my messy era.

NO.

Telephone's impact on Pop Culture (especially with the Music Video) is something she'll never achieve again.

Not every single song on the album has to be a gothic s-x dungeon song.

That's not what I call "cohesive". I would call that bland.

Telephone is a much needed pop of color and variety on the album. wMOhCQU.gif

DITD would've been the Judas of that era and killed her momentum early.

Telephone is a bit basic, but video wise, it's usually cited as her best video and up there with Thriller.

The only song off TFM that should've been a single was Monster after Alejandro.

Telephone is nowhere near my favorite song. In fact besides You & I it may be my least favorite single. However its undeniably a bop. Even if the lyrics are a little less metaphorical than the rest of TFM, instrumentally it fits in well. Its the light song of the album.

You guys also forgot that it was ALSO an extension of the fame. It fits rather well with Poker Face and Just Dance. And all of the fame so specifically staring at "Monster" yeah, sore thumb, but with the whole Fame/Monster thing it is perfect. Because the song Monster fits better on The Fame than on TFMs vibe. Granted lyrically it is the basis of TFM is that... It's odd but works

I don´t think so. Gaga & Bey did a great job, and they gave to the pop culture one of the greatest music videos ever

Best thing to come out of that era IMO. I never skip Telephone when it comes on, whereas I would skip many others.
