Personally, I think the album is as delicious and eclectic and catchy and thematically stacked as anything else she's ever done.I understand many have issues with it, and that's fine. But I do think the album is severely misunderstood, and I also think that anyone who thinks the album is "sh*t" doesn't deserve to have their opinion taken seriously. SKANK 14,288 Posted November 3, 2015 Share Posted November 3, 2015 The dislike for ARTPOP is not "all of a sudden," there were plenty of people who were not impressed with it when it was first released, myself included.In spite of whatever lie the fans want to repeat over, and over, and over, about ARTPOP's detractors the album isn't disliked because of its lack of commercial sucess. That is just an excuse fans use to dismiss any criticism of ARTPOP. If anything, die hard fans have a tendency to rally behind an artists less popular work, that isn't the case with ARTPOP because it's not a great record. There were multiple reasons I think:we heard most of the songs live before the album even came out, so the listening experience is more like comparing to the itunes fest.Lack of promo and interest after Applause. And my biggest problem:the album is all about EDM which everyone is doing and is getting old. My ears get tired when the entire album is crazy beats and party music comapared to BTW that had a lot of different stylesA lot of the themes in ARTPOP Gaga already explored in The Fame, TFM, and BTW. gagzus 15,829 Posted November 3, 2015 Share Posted November 3, 2015 Because media controls the opinions of fans nowadays, they feel the need to inform you how terrible the album is... all because it didn't sell 1 million first week like BTW or didn't magically become as rememberable as The Fame. People forget there's NO CHANCE IN HELL it was gonna do well, I mean were those people paying attention to all the **** she got in 2012? I mean she got called fat, too gay, self entitled, she was called a bully FOR CALLING OUT a bully, people were moaning that she wasn't the same person anymore and that she NEEDED to be generic to be successful again... There was no way it was gonna sell like 500K or more.
