Osborne: British and German economies 'heart of Europe'

Better Day

The UK and Germany have the most foreign ties with their economies. I wouldn't say France is being ignored, but they have to insert themselves more on the world stage if they want to be included in these discussions and.... Based on how the world stage has been going lately, France may have the right idea.

If you're Spanish you should actually worry about the idea of the UK leaving the EU, instead of asking for one of the strongest economy to leave.

If they want to be part of the EU they should accept our currency too, there's absolutely no reason for them to still use pounds and I don't know why the EU allows them to do so.

Also I know Spain is nowhere near as rich as Germany or the UK but we've been steadily growing for the past 2 years so I think we're doing fine, we're growing more than the UK and Germany actually.

I don't see why they would adopt the euro, so far the euro has been a big part of the economical problem of many countries, there are lany thing to complain about the Uk but for once they were clever to stay out of that mess.

But you are right Spain isn't the country in the worst place right now, I wonder if they have a lot of migrants like Greece or the balkans it seems unlikely regarding the route

I think he's right about Germany, but Britain? It seems to me France is more integral to the European economy than Britain. And going beyond economy, France has taken a much more powerful role on the world stage politically and I think that makes it slightly more important in terms of the representation of Europe in the world than with the UK.

Yes, we have lots of inmigrants because it's the closest country to Africa, but years ago before the crisis started it was much worse.

The thing is that in my point of view, if you are part of the EU you must adopt the euro sooner or later. They adopted all the benefits from the EU but they are not willing to accept our coin. That's not fair in my opinion.

I don't see why, I don't get this idea of common currency because clearly it doesn't work. If it should be done again I don't think the euro should be adopted or by countries that have similar economies but not the way it was done. But even if I am pro EU I am quite critical regarding the power it should have anyways so I guess my opinion isn't so common...

Well it's been pretty much obvious that the EU has been a big fail, but I don't think it's ending anytime soon. The idea behind it was great but it was poorly executed.

I don't speak about the EU as such but the euro mostly

I do think the euro was a good idea in its begginings, but it degenerated when it started adding countries which didn't fulfill the requirements, like Greece

Britain joining the euro. No f*cking thanks.

I will be going to the Scottish Parliament and declaring Scotland independent despite anything.
