What I expected from ARTPOP

Let me start by saying that I don't despise the final result of ARTPOP, I poke fun at its underperformance, but all in all it has given me many joys and amazing performances.

I remember when ARTPOP came out and the songs sounded way too overproduced compared to the iTunes festival version, I thought she would follow up the release with a CD bundle of three different styles of ARTPOP. Since she was already teasing us about her duet with Tony Bennett, I also figured one could be some kind of jazz take on the songs. So basically I thought ARTPOP would consist of three CD's

The ARTPOP version (the released one)

The Pop version (similar to the iTunes festival, basically minimalistic production and real instruments)

The Jazz version (similar to to the SNL performance of Applause)

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

Why in the world would you ever expect her to release the same album three times? She likes to preform songs in different ways is all. She's always done that. To release multiple versions of the same songs would make it look like she couldn't decide which version was really the best.

What I expected from ARTPOP: what we got. A fun, strong, EDM album with bizarre lyrics and acid instrumentals

What y'all expected from ARTPOP: the second coming. Two Grammys, three oscars and Lady Gaga's face painted on a canvas in the oval office. A VEVO certified video for each song, directed by Quentin Tarantino and featuring Angelina Jolie, Viola Davis and Cher.

Well at least I wouldn't be thirsting over live versions of her songs and wishing there was a studio version

I expected a more evolved version of The Fame with heavier EDM beats, a satirical albeit slightly generic sounding album that is simply fun. 2 versions; commercial & experimental, I thought the latter would be filled with more Skrillex beats, spoken word over dark electronica (typically what's played at fashion shows) and Trap, full of features. And I thought the Mary Jane Holland persona and looks would be around for the entire era.

I still want her to make a fun, commercial solid pop record and I still want her to bring back those looks or updated forms of them.

...but those are not even high expectations?

Grammys are no big deal to win, oscars are irrelevant you just put that there for a joke, and most videos get vevo certified nowadays...that is not even unreasonable. And some ppl do include famous Actors in their music videos, and Angeline Jolie actually likes Gaga so she could do it if she wanted to

I agree about Grammys and VEVO certifications.
