The only reason a mother should THINK of terminating her child is if it's a complication that may kill her if the fetus is growing in the wrong place 4) I already know my beliefs are in the minority and I'm proud of that! But to expect an entire population to conform to those views is ridiculous. If abortion were to be illegal, it's not going to stop abortion. It's going to give rise to botched abortions, causing even more deaths and/or serious outcomes for the mother and foetus. It abortions were illegal, the strain on the welfare system would go beyond its limits, and the child welfare system would also be strained of its resources. Tell me, what are the odds of someone adopting a child with severe disabilities compared with a child with no abnormalities? It's selfish to expect someone to raise a child despite financial difficulties, an ill mental/emotional/social capacity to raise a child and it's selfish to expect a woman to endure pregnancy just to give it away because of a mere lack of choiceAll these male politicians literally have no idea of the female anatomy or the needs of females in general. Are they aware that fertilised eggs sometimes don't hold onto the uterine wall - passing through the woman as a normal period despite being fertilised - are they gonna hold a woman's body responsible for that potential life being wasted? They might argue that that situation is beyond the control of the woman - whose to say emotional and financial stability is able to be totally controlled by the woman?At the end of the day, if a woman is not ready to have a child, does not have the resources to raise a child, or has health risks posed on her and the child by enduring pregnancy/childbirth or does not want a child - that woman should have the choice to terminate that pregnancy.We are not just pawns that the government gets to control, and they very well do not have the right to determine what does and does not live inside me and depend on me for 40 weeks.Women deserve a choice. It infuriates me when I see people oppose pro choice, especially young people who I expect to be open minded about this sensitive issue. Woman can decide about herself, but when she she is pregnant, it's not only about her anymore, but also about the baby. But to tell other women what they have to do with their body or their child is just wrong. People can think that the women is a sinner and a bad person if she has an abortion but they should never have the right to decide on her behalf.One of my close relatives underwent an abortion because she didn't want to have another child and I totally support this.
