"Lady Gaga" was always partly performance art piece, partly an avatar that was a strong as Stefani wanted to be, and partly a protective shell.  I think she needed to throw herself into a "role" that wasn't as weak and vulnerable as she sometimes felt. 

I'm glad she's opening up and by doing so helping others on their journey.

Maybe the aesthetic but I doubt a hair color will play a huge role for inspiration. I don't think the album will be as dark as the theme of AHS. I think the liberation of her acting will be an influence in the sense that she will be free and happier.

This ^^ I wish she just said that gaga and Stefani are the same person etc just gaga is the more protective and confident side of the personality of stefani, Also why do people associate gaga with blonde hair and Stefani with dark hair?

She pretty much created the Gaga persona to cope with her anxiety along with music. She's explained that Gaga and Stefani are the same person (obviously) but I do think she's getting more comfortable getting called Stefani and is starting to not care about her trademarks in pop culture and won't let the trademarks define her. I'm probably not making sense because I'm just vomiting whatever's on my mind regarding this quote.
