Morphine Prince 109,653
The player, who is described by the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung as a devout Muslim, which forbids him from consuming or promoting alcohol, noticed a beer bottle for one of the club's sponsors, Estrella, on the table and moved it several feet away. A spokesperson for the soccer club then comes over, apparently to explain that the sponsor's bottle must remain. According to the report, Mustafi can be heard saying "I do not want this bottle of beer in front of me." However, Mustafi relented, the spokesperson moved the bottle back, and the footballer can only offer a shrug of his shoulders for the media. It is a clash not seen in North America, as drink sponsors during press conferences are nonalcoholic (e.g. Gatorade). Teams in Europe do not express the same sensitivity, and an incident like this was probably inevitable. RAMROD 117,011
Business is business, belief is belief, he gotta suck it up and deal with it tbh.The sponsors are where his income from. The same with that woman who work as civil service in USA and denied gay couples to get marriage license.Never mix up work and belief. Be a professional. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡
FATCAT 60,888
Assuming he has signed a contract to support the teams sponsors, since most atheletes these days do, then he should be held to those standards. If he doesn't want to sponsor a certain company, or alcohol in general, he should have had that outlined before/while being signed. Bette Davis 12,742
Sometimes I just don't get the logic of super religious people. He's not drinking the beer, so he's not sinning. Kim Davis wasn't marrying a woman. She was just doing her job and supposed to give someone a marriage license, so she wasn't sinning.I just don't get their logic. Plus a large part of his salary comes from endorsements like this. Religion just really clouds people's logic because religion isn't based on logic. I don't hate relgion or religious people, but I just wish they would think for themselves more. Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.
Luiz 4,253
seems really easy to just move over the sponsor to the side.if i was a fan of this club i'd be disappointed in my team if this became some kind of media distraction. seems like the player here handled it pretty well though I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.
