176 Demi Lovato Confident

851 Demi Lovato Confident

38 Demi Lovato Cool for the Summer (before SNL at 42)

359 Demi Lovato Cool for the Summer

63 Demi Lovato Stone Cold (before SNL outside top 100)

The album iTunes positions (both 4 versions)  also increased.  What's your point again?

My point is exactly what I stated. Demi's performance of Stone Cold did not see a significant increase. It was in the 70s and 80s before the performance. Moving up 10 spots down past fifty is not a significant increase.

A performance that made a huge positive impact on the GP would have sent the single and album straight to number one and would have pushed the other songs to the top 10. Demi's performance failed to do that. The placements you posted above are very minimal gains.

Stone Cold and Kingdom Come both fell the top 100 of iTunes before the performance and I know it because I've been following Confident and its tracks iTunes position more than you obviously.

Lol.  No one pushed their songs straight to number 1 after an SNL performance don't be delusional.  Even Gaga's Oscar performance did also only minimal effect on her record sales, although I know she didn't sing her own record. JLo get a lot of praise during her American Idol season 14 finale performance and the YT views of it is also insane yet the song she sang didn't enter the top 100 of iTunes.  also pointed how Demi's audience is problem right now bc she's still on the process of changing it.  What important is the gp is now aware how talented Demi is and her performance was literally being talked and praised all over the twitter.  That's not also a minimal gain but w/e.

That is minimal gains. Go back and look, Stone Cold was in the 70s and 80s on Friday.

Yes, there have been songs that are pushed to number one after SNL. That's not delusional, SNL has had significant impact for certain artist and certain music in the past. Do you even live in the US? Do you actually watch SNL every week and how many years have you been watching the charts in the US and been paying attention to the boosts from shows in the US?

American Idol season 14....lolololol! American Idol hasn't had any kind of impact on songs by visiting performers for years now...probably since season five!

No, what you did was exaggerate the impact by stating that the GP was going nuts for this performance. A placement in the 60s of iTunes is not a big impact. This SNL performance may have moved five to ten thousand singled overall...maybe!

No,  stone Cold was out or almost out the top 100. Again those weren't minimal effect. Ofc I know the effect of SNL and is watching it.  As a chart watcher I know all these stuff.  It's delusional to think it can shoot a song to number 1 just after a performance there, not even a Grammy performance can make your song shoot to the top unless your Taylor or Katy.  Gaga did great with DWUW but it didn't help the song that much.  Ariana and The Weeknd did for LMH it also didn't help the song.  The list can go on and on.  Check out the views of that JLO performance,  it's insane despite the lack of viewers of AI.  But despite the impact on twitter and YouTube,  it didn't help the song chart.

Critical acclaim  is not always about sales so I don't get your logic by saying her songs should shoot to number 1 if she really got a great acclaim from people who saw the performance.

Well,  I'm not really exaggerating when I said she was getting a lot of praise from the gp.  In fact her performance was the number 1 trending topic that time. It's not common for a televised performance to trend like that unless it's well received.  If you think I'm exaggerating then so be it.  In fact a fan sometimes does that bc of excitement.  It's not different when we praise Gaga and sometimes we put an exaggeration to it like "omg yass Gaga ended your faves career!!! !1!1".

No, on Friday, it was in the 70s and 80s. Go look at the comment I just quoted in the Charts thread. It shows that Stone Cold was at 75 on Friday.

What are you talking about? Critical acclaim? I never said anything about that!

You watch SNL every week for the past few years? Really? Are you from the US, because your English is shaky. If you are from the US and watch SNL every week over the last few years, then you would know that many artist have had huge boost when they performed on SNL.

Why do you keep referring to some performance on season 14 of American Idol? American Idol is entering its last season this year, dud to ratings being so horrible. The demographic averages somewhere around 50 to 55 years old now. That's why it has very little iTunes impact.

Again no, if you follow that thread in ATRL that updates 24/7 about Confident,  Stone Cold was almost or out the top 100 of iTunes before the performance. dont obviously live in the US and my English is not good I admit. But it doesn't mean I don't know the effect of SNL on charts.  I'm a chart watcher after all The boost they give is not always that huge.  I admit I was surprised it didn't raise her record that much on iTunes but the boost is still significant.

I know the situation of AI,  I even said its viewers are lacking now.  I want to point out that critical acclaim doesn't always equal to sales.  We all know that.  Your logic was the song should had shoot to number 1 if it's true that Demi's performance was well received. That's not always the case.

Stone Cold was at number 75 on Friday.

The boost is not always huge, but as someone who has watched SNL for years and years now, I can tell you that it has the ability to push new albums and singles to number one or at least the top 10.

No, that was not my logic. My OP stated that the GP wasn't going nuts over the performance and it wasn't the best performance in the history of SNL. If it would have been, then the song would have jumped Much higher on iTunes. SNL has a history of being able to cause that type of impact.

Yes it was like that on Friday.  But again,  it fell many spots before the performance.   I'm sure of that.  The album release was Friday so it gave a boost to it and to Kingdom Come but both almost fell or fell outside the top 100 few hours before SNL kicked-in.

Also,  let's not compare the boost of SNL from the past to present.  You know it's now different esp in this current sales climate we have.

Again that's your opinion,  but for me,  it not always the case. Let's just agree to disagree.

What critics? This nobody who wrote a blog post? Lol

If this was a career defining performance, Demi is in trouble then, because this song barely moved on iTunes. It definitely isn't the best performance on SNL, as many other artists have had their songs and albums fly to number one after SNL. That's how you know the GP responded to the performance.

It was a good performance. Leave it at that.

So I was right,  Stone Cold was out the top 100 before and few hours after the performance.  Now it's at 60s.  That's a great increase for a promo single.
