PaperIz 7,346
Disagree with the ARTPOP stuff, but the rest is amazing. I guess non monsters saw it as her being uninspired but she laboured so fiercely and emotionally through the record. Human generated art
HausOfNicole 177
A very true article, and I agree with the ARTPOP comments as well. Great album to listen to for fun, especially if your a fan, but of all her albums it's surely the weakness and is very much regarded as a failure critically and somewhat commercially. Doesn't mean it's bad, but it's in no way her best work; I think even she'd admit to that in the long run.
Katsuki Bakugo 9,788
Face it guys lol ARTPOP was a downturn for gaga. and ive never heard it put more nicely than an "uninspired crossroads." they still give a nice review, saying it was "laserlit" like her early days, but also mature. all of it was truegood article. gaga's back. c2c revitalized her soul, and ahs is just the beginning. That was the best criticism and the most professional way of describing ARTPOP Success. People don't understand/ know what to do when she gets good constructive criticism because we are so used to getting hate. Bad Bromance 5,809
Great article, and (aside from the ARTPOP sideglare) very very accurate. Agreed! I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

MelbHawker 6,583
Loving this praise. It's deserved - she's been such a quiet achiever this year. So inspiring. She laid low for a while, and now she's coming to life.Rise, Queen.

scorpion 409
It just sits differently with me everyone is so quick to disregard ARTPOP.As if we had the burden of dealing with it.It was and is still great. I also hate this idea the general public is saying, take down your facade.Yes her voice made her who she is, but we LOVE her because she IS a commentary on the general state of pop culture, or lack there of. Why would anyone want to disarm that? Money hungry producers? Perhaps....but for bloggers, critics, fans....they should be thrilled a voice has surfaced challenging those ideas. Its exactly what she stands for. Sometimes in life we have callings. Challenging the status quo was Gaga's. No reason to try and change that. I do agree sometimes people need a break. Thats fine. And I challenge Gaga to expand. But I am not here for apologizing for ARTPOP or the past.
crisTEAne 21,059
The fact that Gaga has been able to create as much intrigue as she has this year following the critical flop of her last project solo project, 2013's ARTPOP, is a miracle in and of itself. For many, that album revealed an artist at an uninspired crossroads. Its 15 tracks vacillated between the laser-lit exuberance of her early days and the mature poise of her later work. However, its "lack of substantial personal connection and its tenuous grasp on reality makes it a tough record to like," the AV Club wrote. PopMatters described it as "confused, disengaged and at its worst, just downright bored." this paragraph was unnecessary. saying that ARTPOP was uninspired and lacks substantial personal connection is not true. casual listeners or reviewers may not not know enough about gagz, but i'm surprised to see that some fans here agree with those statements. that's just ignorant. anyway, i get what the article wants to say. however, it's not well-written... at all. yay for the hopeful and positive message, i guess. if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back

XoXoJoanneGaga 629
i see no lies Except for the ARTPOP shade It's not shade to say it was a critical flop and a treading water record, just fact.
Born Brave 2,072
This is a good read. The writer wasn't being disrespectful about ARTPOP- he was only repeating what other critics had said. Gaga is a completely new Gaga right now and I am loving the happiness she is radiating. She deserves all of this success and it proves her NYE quote from 2012 to be true... "My new years resolution: Never be afraid to be kicked in the teeth. Let the blood and the bruises define your legacy. - Lady Gaga 2012"
