Germany now expects up to 1.5 million refugees

IMO what the UK is doing is the best possible course of action. Taking families directly from the camps in Syria, so you can be sure they;re actually refugees rather than economic migrants taking advantage of the situation. A well respected British documentary show 'Panorama' revealed a lot of the men just stick with children and old and disabled people to be allowed through. The priority should be refugees not economics migrants.

UK is taking too few refugees :rip:

Those illegal immigrants left their children and women in the war zone. Why are Germany so keen on helping those who are mostly aggressive, who have no documents, attack police, regular people and even military forces? Why doesn't anyone think about the people who stayed to fight? Or about women, children and elders who are being raped and killed in some most cruel ways? By the way, there is/was a war in Ukraine, how many people did Germany help, but sending them weapons? Or the better question, how many young men from Ukraine left their families in the war zones while they were on their way to "paradise"?

P.S.: I couldn't care less what German parliament does. It can even force all native Germans to commit a suicide in order to be less "nationalistic". I just hope they will not attack countries such as Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania or Slovakia that are destitute enough not to invite about 2 billion of people who claim to be poor.

Nobody is attacking any countries, nor Germany actively pursues the strategy of bringing people to its country. These refugees come to us and we are just unwilling of closing our borders.

The comments about the parliament are ridiculous. The majority of Germans welcomes refugees and is aware of the demographical problems we will face in 10 years WITHOUT immigration. Don't be blinded by the 5% which consists of nationalist, neonate assholes and who start riots and burn refugee camps down. But every country has to deal with minorities that don't share the same values and norms. That's how democracy works.

I'm not entirely sure how we will handle the integration process itself, parliament should start a big German-learning program and use the spare money we currently have to help those people having a successful start in Germany and find work as soon as possible.

Regarding the fact that only young man arrive here - might be true in some cases but only because they are the only ones strong enough to survive the dangerous journey. They are very welcome to get their families here as soon as they have a residence permit.

Too few yes, but my point was never about the numbers it was about the method.

I'm not blinded by any nationalists, I just have a family living in Austria and they were threatened by those "peaceful" illegal immigrants already. Is it ok that they come to your house and demand money and if you don't agree to give them everything they want, they start threatening you? My sister called the police, but I assume you wouldn't have, because it is neonate to worry about the security of your family?

Also, would you really leave your family in the war zone if you know they are weak and you are strong? Or would you stay to protect them? Because I would stay.

I think that this is too much and will resuly in a big backlash. It has shown that Germany's way attracts more refugees while it is cheaper to help the refugees in a country like Turkey. Also, integration is nearly impossible with a level of refugees this high. How will million people learn the German language for multiple hours a day? How will housing be guaranteed for so many people? If Germany wants this generation of Syrians to succeed, they need to work hard on the integration process. This means learning the German law, culture, language and morals.

I do think this could lead to an economic boom, though.

Nope, I would have called the police as well. People that behave like that should not be able to stay, I agree with you on that. But can you generally say that about all immigrants just because you are personally influenced? Something similar happened to my family in Germany as well and it were Eastern European people that came to our house and wanted money. So please don't generalize.

I'm not sure how you can protect your family against IS and Assad. They both have heavy weapons and kill thousands of people without hesitation. I would go, but of course try to take my family with me.

I can show you enough articles from German-speaking sources that are way more positive and optimistic. It might be the biggest crisis and challenge Europe ever faced but it's not impossible to solve. It will be, though, if the European countries blame each other for their actions and don't act with one voice. And I'm afraid that this won't happen in the near future...

I live directly in front of a refugee centre and my [jewish] family is living on the same street as a refugee centre. Neither me or my family experienced any hatred from refugees. It would be wrong to generalize a group of people by some individuals.

Lol. Why do you feel the need to be specific about it ? Nobody cares if your family is jewish, trust me.

Some people are fearing refugees bringing in anti-semitism.

I'm pro-refugees, of course integration isn't easy and some of them might have too conservative religous views, it will be a challenge, but we need to help these people!!! Everyone deserves a proper life without war, danger and fear of death.

So you see my point, because all I mean is not to refuse any help. What I'm saying is that there should be a control of who is entering the country and therefore not everyone should be allowed to come in. First of all, people should show all of the documents they have, it should be checked whether they are not criminals, members of IS, etc. The same goes for the their medical complaints, how can anyone know if they do not have HIV or any exotic illnesses. For example, when I was to travel to Africa, I had to be inoculated, while they are surely not. However, it is difficult to fix this mistake if there are quite big groups of those who are disrespectful towards the western culture and think they are above the law.

You gave the example of those people from Eastern Europe. I'm sure that situation happened, but I highly doubt there were all sleeping on the streets in front of  your family's house or that they were entering their garden to camp there . I had nothing against immigrants, until my family from Austria started calling me and complaining that they are scared of them and nobody has any solution how to help. The funny thing is that they also were very welcoming, they had a spare flat and they let 2 Syrian families to live there (for free!), so I think they are far from being nationalistic.

So to sum up what I said, opening the boarders the way Germany does and inviting everyone, even illegal immigrants is simply insane! It is not helping anyone, even IS will also be free to enter. Don't you think it's possible? Those who had to escape will be forced to do that again, but the question where if every country seem to forget about the security laws
