Asylum is lower than Coven and Freak Show, so does Metacritic really matter in terms of the season's quality? Let's be real here because Freak Show was by far the weakest season AHS has had yet, and it's score is higher than Murder House and Asylum. Don't let this score get you down.

i really don't give a fuss about reviews! if they are great thats amazing, if not who cares - some critics just don't get it or can't take horror (or are still trying to drag queen gags)

I've read thumbs up for stylistically it being great but flash over substance, not enough of a story the first episode.  I haven't had time to watch it yet.

And let's not forget that the reason Gaga and AHS go so well together is because they're both so polarizing and provocative. That's also the reason they always do brilliant things and still get hounded by some critics. Doesn't mean it isn't good, just that it pushed someone's buttons a little too far, and they got uncomfortable, so they have a negative feeling toward it.

You guys need to calm down. 

1. This isn't the season's rating, this is a single episode. 

2. For the most part, the most liked seasons of AHS have lower critic scores. 

I think ARTPOP to some extent was portrayed as a bad album by the critics, so even if we fans and AHS fan enjoy the season, I'm concerned that the Emmys and various other award shows might take into account the reviews and not give it or Gaga any nominations. Did Asylum really have low scores as well?

I love how every critic (but one) said that Gaga's acting is fine/good/great but criticized the writing of the show. I mean we don't have Gaga to blame for bad reviews, she can't rewrite the scripts by herself.

I loved Gaga and it was so weird but cool to see her acting!

 

I felt like there wasn't really a story but episode 2 will start character development. I hate when shows have the first episode throw everything at you, it's just too much. Hotel did a good job of just being atmospheric and haunting. And portraying a mood.

 

GO GAGA AND AHS TEAM
