There is religious/conservative homophobia (your def. above), but their is also a macho kind that looks down on gays as effeminate pussies. I agree, the use of a non-PC words doesn't mean someone is a bigot and people overreact. But the way she's repeatedly insulted gays suggests she shares the typical prejudices of macho rap culture. Gawd, she's said a lot worse than Eminem now.

I understand your point and agree, but the point is that it is socially unacceptable to use that word in a degrading way. Could you imagine the outrage if the Delta flight attendant said "calm down n**ga" to her? "Fag**t" has the same kind of meaning to gays and she KNOWS that.
