It's not difficult to understand how some people do not know who Grace Jones is. Especially the younger fans who were not around when Grace was of significance.

As for Grace being an influence on Gagas music, who hasn't been an influence? She seems to have been the biggest fan of EVERYONE at some point so it is difficult to keep up.

Only way I can rationalize this is that she had a different level of impact in different areas because a large majority of people in the U.K. would know her. She still gets on prime time talk shows on the weekend if she's up to something.

Grace is acknowledging the fact Gaga wanted to work with her just because it's her, not for another reason.

I'm sorry but outside of fashion, that's all the influence Gaga had from her especially early in her career. And tbh Grace Jones's music isn't the "creme de la creme" she has her hit and misses as well just like every other artist

There's literally loads of gay genres of music though... artists literally identify as gay exclusive artists and make music for the LGBT+ community and sing exclusively about our struggles and themes we would generally enjoy.
