Melech 9,900
"Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is continuing to openly encourage a religious war to gain exclusive Muslim control over Jerusalem's Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism. The Temple Mount also houses the Al Aqsa Mosque and Islamic complex, which are built atop the ruins of two Jewish temples. Islamist groups, along with the PA and its supporters, have sought to deny any Jewish connection to the site, claiming it is a Muslim or "Palestinian" holy site.Muslim extremists have also waged a violent campaign aimed at preventing growing number of Jewish visitors from accessing the site, while systematically destroying ancient Jewish artifacts.According to Palestinian Media Watch, in an open letter to Palestinian university students beginning the new academic year, Abbas urged them to "carry out Ribat" - an Arabic term for a religious war to maintain Muslim control over land claimed as Islamic.Text of the letter was posted to the official Facebook page of Abbas's Fatah faction on August 17, and translated by PMW:In the name of Allah the Merciful and Compassionate,And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good. (Quran, Sura 29:69, translation Sahih International)Allah the Supreme spoke truth. We will continue to stand firm and carry out Ribat in Jerusalem and its surroundings until Judgement Day. Then the believers will rejoice in the victory of Allah, and will say: 'When is it [Allah's victory]? It might be here soon.'"http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/200223#.VfxweM5nJd0 War and violence won't bring anything. Both sides need to realize. Didymus 34,380
"In the name of Allah the Merciful and Compassionate"lmaoWhat kind of idiot do you have to be to deny a Jewish connection to it. Even if you believe scholarly a--lysis of the Torah (which I doubt this dude has read) that leaves open the possibility that Mount Zion actually refers to Mount Zaphon, where there was a temple of Baal-zephon, which is actually on the Syrian-Turkish border (now named Jebel Aqra) instead of in Jerusalem, Jewish tradition in any case has identified it with Jerusalem and Solomon. I'd love to see his arguments. I'm sure they're wonderful.I hope most Palestinians realize that turning to religion as an outlet for the tensions created by this 100% political Israel-Palestine conflict is choosing for ignorance. lego 44,165
So transparent how they call them "muslim extremists", but same type on other side are "Jewish ACTIVISTS", "jewish visitors" etc - no they are also extremists with same or worse religious rethoric. " while systematically destroying ancient Jewish artifacts" after everything Israeli police just did days ago inside the mosque. Hasbara working overtime. lego 44,165
Ribat - an Arabic term for a religious war What? "A ribat (Arabic: رباط; ribāṭ, hospice, hostel, base or retreat) is an Arabic term for a small fortification as built along a frontier during the first years of the Muslim conquest of North Africa to house military volunteers, called the murabitun. These fortifications later served to protect commercial routes, and as centers for isolated Muslim communities. Ribats were first seen in the 8th century. The word "ribat" in its abstract refers to voluntary defense of Islam" They are just saying they'll defend Al Aqsa? ok the source "Palestinian Media Watch is an Israeli research institute that studies Palestinian society" FreePalestine

Shadow 6,707
The time has come to be brave and rationale and say no to senseless war. Why can't the Temple Mount be shared? Qur'an even says Allah stands with the doers of good, does that not include peace? Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

I agree, I just saw on al Jazeera, all those orthodox (or right wing) Jews who are openly calling for destruction of Al Aqsa to rebuild the Temple Mount are called - activists. Qur'an even says Allah stands with the doers of good, does that not include peace? Well, the Torah definitely makes it very clear that it's not to be shared I think Jewish tradition is the one that would hold back a philosophy of sharing the most, since there are literal references to its religious significance. For Muslims it also has religious significance but not in a messianic, utopian sense. Anyway, in both cases textual sources create this conflict. Which is sort of hilarious but it also shows how dangerous culture can be. Check this omg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dome_of_the_Rock#Accessibility All this regulation for a simple location.
