Does anybody know why she doesn't sing these lines herself and who's the girl singing it anyway?

Why is LoveGame titled LoveGame and not Love Game?

I remember that after ARTPOP was released, it was revealed (don't know by who though) that the G.U.Y. lines are spoken by her assistant. Which I still find confusing because I really hear Gaga's voice in them, actually :air:

I think she chose to pick LoveGame because the "LG" becomes more apparent and those are of course her initials. Also, I think she didn't want the title to make people think of a Love Game as a game of/in love, but rather a new idea: LoveGame, to me, is a specific "invention" of Gaga that's not a game of love. It's a game where love is actually doubted. Do you want love or you want fame? I think it's a comment on her professional/romantic relationships prior to her big breakthrough.

Yeah I recall that. She's NEVER sung those lines in any G.U.Y. performance though as far as I am concerned, which is strange.

That's true  Just the "love me, love me", "get on top of me",...

Still no reason as to why she didn't sing it herself. Gaga is just strange sometimes :emma:

Well, ARTPOP has multiple of those moments. Did you ever hear the second voice in the second Swine verse for instance? I know that the same voice is on another track as well (Venus maybe? I don't remember).

I think she just really wanted to include other people on the album, because she had already said months before the release that the album, for her, was really a compilation of collaborations where she wanted to unite herself with the energy of people and musicians she loved

Could be just some sort of tribute to her assistant :giggle: I think it's kind of cute that her assistant, you know the girl who works for her, is the one who leads her to a new dimension.

There's a hidden voice behind Gaga's that belongs to a different woman, yeah. I remember hearing it by myself but when a GGD user in 2013 separated the different layers we could hear the isolated vocals and it was really funny 'cause that girl is clearly not a great vocalist.

I don't mean the second Gaga vocal in that verse btw. It's not a backing vocal, that girl just sings the exact same melody as Gaga. Listen closely :giggle: Must be a friend of hers.

There is a background vocals by another girl in the second verse of Swine, you can hear it in leaked stems. She also recorded background vocals for the first verse, and there is male background vocals for verses too, but those were not included in album version.

She likes to include people who work for her/she's close to.

Don't you remember bodyguard Peter and Government Hooker?
