Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Remember when Gaga said that she showed a lack of maturity with ARTPOP? Well that was cute and all, but I feel like since she and her fanbase are getting older that maybe its time for her to mature a little musically speaking.I mean don't get me wrong, I love songs like Applause and Poker Face but after a while it gets a bit exhausting. I hope that her stint with Tony and her being engaged has inspired her to make more grown up music that all ages will enjoy. And when I say mature, I don't mean preachy. She can still have fun and be youthful, but I would really like for her songwriting and themes to depart from the whole fame and s-x theme, and for her to introduce us to something a bit more fufilling and thought provoking.I feel like her most vulnerable and truly authentic body of work is The Fame Monster. Songs like Speechless, Monster, DITD, SHICD. For LG5, I would like something like that but going even further. I mean, she's about to be 30. I know she has learned a lot more about life and love since ARTPOP has happened. I hope that she truly becomes vulnerable and let us into the mind of Gaga without all of the extraness we're used to. Just a thought. And to set the record straight, I LOVE Gaga's music and I have bought every album and played them death. I just want her to continuously improve artistically. :) It's science, bitch
PaperIz 7,346
I really don't think ARTPOP was really that immature. It was fun, but it's not as if she was pulling a Carlyle Rae Jepsen. I like her walking the line between serious and fun. Human generated art
Fiona Apple 13,006
I don't want Gaga to become vulnerable. But I would like some more personal songs.. ARTPOP songs were written when she was really sad and they mean so much to her but they don't really show anything about her like Speechless etc. (Only Dope and Gypsy kinda do)
Didymus 34,380
"to depart from the whole fame and s-x theme, and for her to introduce us to something a bit more fufilling and thought provoking" I feel like she's doing that all the time though.. I mean, say what you want about ARTPOP but the lyrical concepts on it are by far the most diverse and revealing of all her albums If you're like me and can actually identify an entire storyline in the track order (which she said existed) it turns out to be her most (conceptually) mature album yet. I think maybe the "extraness" you refer to is blinding you from the mature content there is. I actually like that you have to dig for it a little bit and that it's not on the surface. But I guess that's a taste issue

yASSsss 35,510
I don't think she's going for the immature-colorful-fun theme again.her albums are always way different from her previous work..Also judging by her Instargram, twitter posts, looks like she's going for her dark theme again....so we don't need to worry about that Her darkest era is coming...not like PRISM but a real one, have faith in our good sis Possess Me ,Gags, put a spell on me Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine

But I'm not judging her for that because that was her goal for that album. I just hope she doesn't repeat it for LG5. It's science, bitch

Didymus 34,380
I get that. But my thing is, with ARTPOP a lot of it is centered around d--gs, fame, and s-x and art. Like I KNOW there's more to Gaga than just those themes. I want her to explore herself in other areas as well Well, I don't necessarily see those themes in the album. The s-xual references are clearly metaphorical, she doesn't really speak about art anywhere else than one song, d--gs are mentioned in only three songs, fame isn't mentioned anywhere at all (except a minor reference in DWUW maybe). For me the album is about her identity and her return to embracing love. That fiery energy in Venus gets broken down and she hides herself in d--gs, s-x, fame, bad relationships,... but she finds herself again in Dope and especially Gypsy. When she explained that in Gypsy she portrays a kind of love that isn't about wanting to change the other person but accepting and loving them completely as they are, my eyes about this album really opened.I also see a very clever identification trick happening. In Aura it's all about seeing behind the veil, seeing behind the Gaga, getting to know her real person (which she explores throughout the album) and then in Applause the veil is lifted and there are the fans. Their applause is what's really behind the phenomenon that is Lady Gaga.I mean, there's a lot in it that is worth exploring. The lyrics for Fashion! alone are very introspective, especially in the bridge. Swine and Dope were easily her most emotional outings in her career. I don't want to prove you wrong necessarily, but I just am really convinced that ARTPOP pushed her lyrically to a place you seem to want her to go in the future - but I feel like it's already here. MelbHawker 6,583
I would love an album with more sophisticated vocabulary in terms of lyric to be honest. Not here for 'just ask your gay friends their advice before you get a spray tan in holiday.. in Taipei'. I'm over satire.

Well I guess its all up for interpretation. Idk I just feel like with the exception of a few songs I really haven't learned that much morr about Gaga than what I already knew. I just want more soul searching and revelations for her next album. I want her to take me on a true spiritual journey. Maybe I'm just asking for too much.
