Just like in Taylor threads, where people bring up other artists? Or in Gaga threads where other artists (and you know who I'm talking about) are brought up? The charts thread had to be divided into two sections, due to all the talk about Katy a couple of years ago. That's the nature of this site, since it also functions as "a forum where current popular music is a major element"...in your own words. 

Physically destructive? Who would get physically destructive over discussions of a bunch of music artists? Are you tempted to resort to those extremes or something? Wow....maybe a walk around the block or some excercise might help? Maybe a kick boxing class, or something? Lol 

Again, there are some elements you could easily avoid, since it bothers you to the point of getting physically destructive or going insane. You could make the choice of at least avoid the threads that have Taylor in the title, if it is that distressing to see information about some pop star. That's what I would do, if a random artist who I don't know in real life was affecting my day to day life in such an extreme manner! 

Other artists are sometimes brought up, sure, but they're usually not gushed about to this extreme. She's the only one that bothers me. It's just a phase, to be sure, but it's a galling one.

No, I didn't mean I'm prone to destructive tendencies! I get out anger through words, not actions. My point is that isn't getting out my hate on a forum that Taylor is unlikely to read, a better outlet for my anger than doing something that could really hurt her? I don't send her hate mail or send her hate tweets. All my anger's just put out here, just to get it out, in a place that she likely won't see. Isn't that better than burning down boats? ;) (I saw that reference you made about me in that thread!)

Oh, please...there are like five or six Taylor fans on this site. Lana, Madonna and Katy get far more mentions and conversation concerning their careers. It's always a phase. As soon as an era is over, the discussion dies down. 

Yeah, I'm not getting you here at all! What could you do that could possibly hurt Taylor? Hate tweets? I'm sure she gets plenty of those, along with any other celebrity on Twitter. Nothing is wrong with your dislike of Taylor or any other celebrity...that's never been the point. When you say you can't escape her, but spend so much time dedicated to talking about her, it doesn't make sense. If I want to avoid an artist, I don't spend the majority of my time on a site discussing them. You control what threads you click on and read. Hate away....but it is odd that you complain about the attention she gets while you add so much to every little discussion about her. You can't escape Taylor, because you are making the choice to discuss her at length every time a thread comes up.

So, in comparison, do my bitter rants mean much in the grand scheme of things My methods may not make sense to you, but trust me, if you ever find someone or something inescapable and it's not as easy as just switching the channel, then maybe you'll understand my need to complain a bit more. For the record, I have OCD and a major part of that involves me becoming attached to ideas and being unable to get them out of my mind until I put them to rest in some way. Simply not being exposed to something won't stop me thinking about it, so can you imagine how hard this is when you are being exposed to the subject all the time? I recalled how the Adele phenomenon was the worst for me, that it was like going mad, for I saw and heard her everywhere I was, everywhere I looked, even in situations where I thought I'd be free of her. And for me, the more obvious something is, the more it needs to be addressed.

Definitely. I'd handle her a lot better if it weren't for her fans giving her overblown praise and overestimating her and putting down anyone who doesn't like her. She's not the only artist with fans like that, but right now, they're at their worst. I'm sure a huge amount of them will move on when she stops making pop albums, however.

I don't think anyone can say for sure how successful Taylor will or won't be next era. I can't see her selling as much, as record and single sales continue to plummet. I can see her still being on the top of the charts for weeks, like she has been in every one of her eras. I doubt fans will cry themselves to sleep if she sells six million, instead of ten million, especially when they consider the market overall. I also think the fact that she is establishing herself in parts of the world outside of primarily the U.S. and Canada, will help with her overall sales numbers. Then, there is always touring. Taylor is establishing herself in many parts of the world as a touring force and I only see that growing, as she continues to rack up the hit songs. As with all artists, every case is different and we will have to wait and see what the future holds.  

Oh, there are lots of artists I've found to be inescapable here, but I avoid most of their threads, or I know that in a while it will die down. I don't care for most of the artists here that other people worship. For the most part, the artists I am interested in either aren't popular here or they are basically ignored. It doesn't matter to me, as I am here first and foremost for Gaga! 

If the very mention of certain artists mess with your mind that much, maybe a general music section isn't for you? Doesn't Lana have a fanforum? Couldn't you bookmark her threads or follow them here on GGD and avoid all the things that trigger your OCD? Then, you could hang out primarily in the Gaga News and Thoughts sections to discuss Gaga. There are choices you could make to help yourself, from getting so wound up over some random pop star who isn't going to affect your everyday real life in any way.

Honestly, Swifties get bothersome with their constant "You only hate her because you're jealous! She's only getting hate because she's on top!" and the Non-Swifties get bothersome with occasionally overa--lyzing. (Although I will say I was happy to see most non-TayTays aren't believing and perpetuating ridiculous accusations like she was doing c-----e or her video was racist- even the Taylor-Hators were sticking up for her in those threads, so at least we're not just looking for any reason to hate on her.)

Anyways, more on topic- is anyone else annoyed that something as minor as this would not only become "news," but be twisted into saying Taylor is doing d--gs? I think it's disgusting.

Just saying that a popstar's stock can go down real fast, much faster than some would think. I've seen artists be everywhere with their breakout and then fade into oscurity afterwards. Debut or not, this is Taylor's breakout on an international scale, so we have to hold it to the same standards. I thought Gaga fans would know the performance of a previous album won't necessarily match the ones in the future.

How about this - I won't complain about Taylor being inescapable and you won't complain about me complaining about her in general, ok? Personally, I don't know why it's any concern of yours either way. By the way, have you noticed that I've actually been ok with Taylor recently? Sympathising over that boat burning thing, disagreeing with reports that her video was racist, disagreeing with reports that she was doing coke backstage and finding a video she posted about being told to put some clothes to be funny. See, I'm making progress!

Just wanted to point out that there's a difference between copying what someone said and trying to start something by copying what someone said.
