We were all excited for that collaboration, but obviously some things didn't convice Gaga about the final cut and they decided not to release it. Cher's album is actually pretty good in my opinion, I like it a lot and listen to it very often. The album came out regardless of Gaga's collaboration getting cut because the plan was to have Cher come back to the music business, not to do Gaga a favor or vice versa. Of course I'd have loved if the song was included in the album, but that doesn't make the album any less good.

AFAIK she is only  asked Cher for her voice to

Cher was obviously very excited about Gaga and The Greatest Thing and I don't think she would have made an album aside from getting excited about music again because of that collab.

Then Gaga deleted the song which was supposed to be the single and left Cher with a terrible single and no possible album era.

Should Cher be more mad?

I think Cher originally heard the Greatest demo in RedOne's studio, and wanted to work on that song, but I think when Gagz heard the song, she maybe heard that it didn't find it suiting to Cher's repetoire. I actually agree, it's not very Cher. I think she had a more suitable sound for Cher in mind then RedOne, and that's why she said she'd work with her in person if she wanted to.

Idk but Gaga really hurt Cher's feelings. She looked so dissapointed and confused when she was talking about it on WWHL.  

 

this! if i was Cher id kinda be cheezed too... and she kept delaying her release along with Gagas so probably they were trying to time it properly with Gagas release

 

I give Cher lots of props for being calm most of the time, i would have flipped

To be perfectly fair to Gaga, she's absolutely right. It's a really underwhelming track and not worthy of either woman.
