the only thing republicans did wrong was push for mortgage lending with fanie mae and freddie mac insuring those loans from default... and even that was surprisingly socialist of them (probably why many democrats approved of it) to use tax payer money to help people of modest means get homes...

 

But other factors causing the crisis such as oil going to $148/barrel in 2008 putting pressure on the economy, or the Federal reserve leaving rates low for too long inflating bubbles had nothing to do with anything republicans did

 

to put all the blame or crisis on a single republican is more than ignorant!!!

A more likely theory imo is that Donald will ask for concessions from the GOP, and else he'll run independent. What those concessions could be? Probably things that benefit the richest of the richest. He has a lot of power and can basically buy this election and choose which Republican nominee gets to become candidate.
