TiphEret 1,320 Posted September 4, 2015 Share Posted September 4, 2015 I read recently an article saying that it was on the long run a good move for Germany so the ligrants staying in Germany would hopefully work and therefore support the welfare system as the population in Europe overall is ageing but we don't want to make so much babies now so ...we need them. Luc 4,776 Posted September 5, 2015 Share Posted September 5, 2015 Germany is very rich and has an exceptionally low birthrate.It's scary though, as it seems if you take in large numbers of culturally incompatible refugees ior ones that struggle economically, it breeds far right politics. Even in supposedly progressive countries.It doesn't really matter for far tight voters if it's 50k, 100k, 200k or 500k. What matters for them is that it's not zero. I think nationalism is still too much of a taboo in Germany for a far-right party to become big. I actually think this will help moderate and leftist parties in other countries.
