Gohan 16,454
She literally said that she didn't release her best / favorite music because she was afraid of how it would chart. She never said she was the one that's afraid of that. I'm sure that b---h is Interscope (Troy was gone by that time, so I can't blame him). But then again, she could still make experimental music (Scheiße, ARTPOP, just to name a few) and "chart good". It's so clear that there's obviously someone more interested in making "commercial music" or "hit-sounding songs" besides her, because obviously they want to sell. The day that she's completely free and has her career managed by herself, launched her own label and makes the same statements... That day you can quote her words and try to make her look hypocrite. Now, she's a label depending girl just like everybody else in the industry. tryna go ask Alice, tryna catch that rabbit

Exactly, she's a label depending girl that is highly relying on the permission of others, that alone debunks any comment she made in the ARTPOP era that dooms her as a unique, different type of artist as opposed to her peers.Scheiße & ARTPOP are not experimental at all. Head Empty 25,241
She literally said that she didn't release her best / favorite music because she was afraid of how it would chart. That's not what she said at all . She said she didn't want to expose that music to "the machine", because at that point people start putting all these values on it, when she just wanted to purely enjoy it. That music was so sacred to her that she didn't want people decreasing it to a number, because then she wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much personally. And we all know that, no matter how good the music would be, it would have met A LOT of critisism and crappy opinions at that point during the ARTPOP era. That's awesome, I love her for that as well. It's just draining to see her being held in a regard that she does not deserve to be held according to by her own fans lol. In other words, she didn't release it because she was afraid it would not be well received by all means necessary. How does that contribute to the ARTPOP message? Pop 4,541
She and Bobby planned a perfect comeback. She is using various kinds of media and music genres to remind people of her talent and her versitality as an artist. After the mess that was the ARTPOP era, I'm glad she is getting her **** together. I agree with both actually Totodile is 100% right that Gaga meant that she hates her (best) music being exposed to the industry she despises. But Jjang is 100% right when he says that although that is admirable, it defeats everything she said during the rest of the ARTPOP era because she couldn't show the bravery and creativity she prided herself on while not being able to exercise it, because of the industry and/or her ego. Yanko 9,860
Just like a lot of songs from Madonna's discography no one claims that madonna songs are experimental tho (ray of light is more ""experimental" than anything gaga has done tho, since madonna is the topic suddenly)
