Does it disgust you how little some monsters learned from BTW?

Born To Slay

Ya know, I've felt insecure a little bit in the past few months, so I began listening to some Gagas 2011 interviews and songs like Born This Way, All my monsters are beautiful and others and I felt better. The reason I began to feel insecure was because the BTW effect had begun to wear off of me. So then I began thinking and it's clear to me that some people here have either had the Born This Way effect wear off or even worse, they learned nothing from it. Gaga, our favorite pop star who we obsessively listen to everything she said, spent over a year banging into our heads anti-bullying, self acceptance messages. So I must question, how do I see so much negativity here? How do I see people so okay with body shaming or bullying other artists or even other members? Why do I see people acting like looks are super important? How has some of our fanbase become so superficial? It's disgusting that Gaga's Born This Way message has become somewhat lost, as if it never meant anything or was never taken seriously and that to me is quite tragic.

This is so true. Guys, it's not that hard to be nice. Also, lately it became very trendy to be sassy but sass is great and fun when it's done at the right time. Not 24/7.

People hate what they don't understand.

Some people enjoy the music but don't care as much for the meaning behind the whole thing

I agree. I think it's pretty obvious that they only liked the album and the music. Proves that they didn't give a fck about the lyrics after all.

I can imagine them screaming and cheering for Gaga when Gaga gives a motivational speech about love and acceptance and anti-bullying but then when they get back home they do what exactly is opposite of what they heard from Gaga at the artRAVE/Born This Way Ball.

It's a shame actually.

It's far from disgusting. If you expected everyone will stop bullying each other because of Born This Way, well, you were wrong. I'm not saying it's okay to be a bully but it's impossible that one song will change everyones perspective.

It's nice to see that it helped you, but some people (including myself) have really low self esteem and you can't expect everyone to be like "i love myself!!!" after listening to Born This Way. It does help to some extent, but not 100% for everyone.

Well, nothing changes over night, so self acceptance and acceptance of others is something that all of us are going to spend the rest of our lives trying to master...besides, let's put Gaga aside, we live in a very negaive culture, so we're all in some level infected by it...and really, considering all "fanbases" we're among the nicest ones...just go to ATRL and you'll see ppl saying some really nasty **** to each other and about ppl they don't even know...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Actually it was an entire album and era and the message continued to be spread throughout the ARTPOP era. Not to mention she preached this in a lot of interviews, she started the Born This Way foundation, she demonstrated this spirit through her own actions, etc. It wasn't just the song.

Because some people will never change.

I see fans shaming Gaga for her weight which is bullying and body shaming all rolled into one. This goes against the whole message that is Born This Way.

It is not just a record, but a record based on important topics that are serious is today's ****ed up world. Gaga gave her heart and soul in that album, at least understand the concept!

In my messy era.

It actually doesn't... People will always be people... I am sure that this album helped a lot of people and fans (including me) but it's impossible for some people to change

Yeah I noticed that, I'm talking about the fanbase. I remember feeling very good and comfortable when in Gaga fans company around BTW, but today, it's another story. It's like in btw era they were like "spread love, breed compassion" and when the era ended: "ow screw that shiz the era is over, **** you fat, eat**** skinny b---hes, your dick cut? Bye...11@!!!"

it's disgusting tbh :smh:

Some people just don't care sadly. But as long as we never stop, everything will be OK. Just Dance gonna be OK.
