question

Is this reason enough to conclude that LG5 is not a mid-tempo/ballad album?

I've been thinking about this question lately, some of us have been speculating how LG5 is going to have a genre switch, so if she indeed does that, say if she does ballads, mid-tempo songs, rock songs,

how is she going to perform Poker Face, Bad Romance, Judas, Applause at her next tour? Unless she makes rock versions or ballad versions of these songs or else the tour is going to be a hybrid of two totally different genres which can be quite weird.

What do you think?

I don't understand the question.. She'll just play the old songs with the new. Genre isn't a deciding factor in her tour list.

What I was trying to say is if Gaga decides to have a genre switch, let's just imagine LG5 is soul music, it's predictable that the tour is going to be toned down to fit the theme of the album, songs like Bad Romance or Poker Face wouldn't be suitable to be included on the setlist because they tracks of heavy dance elements.

In terms of changing up the arrangements of songs, she might or she might not. If she feels like she needs to change up how some of her songs go, then it won't be hard because she's done that quite often in the past (ballad version of Hair, Poker Face, etc, that SXSW Bad Romance arrangement, and so on).

And remember back in the summer of '09 when she did a lot of festivals? Her songs had more of a rock feel to them with the live band. If she needs to fit some old songs with the aesthetic of the new ones, she'll probably do it.

Your question implies that Gaga wouldn't ever be able to diverge from the style that she embarked with on The Fame. But Gaga has already shown that she can really transform her songs into new versions (even though she hasn't done that a lot the past few years). I'm sure that, if she switches genres (although I doubt she'll do a complete 360), she'll manage to transform her past singles to go with it. Or as @FATCAT said, she'll just play them as she always did and do a blend of styles throughout the show.

It's not that hard to give a rock vibe to her past hits. She already did that in the past.

She still needs those uptempo songs. Not here for a C2C concert masquerading as a pop concert. :green:

Well she has ballad versions of Applause, Poker Face, and Bad Romance, so I think you just answered your own question
