YAAAAS the queen ha generosity

In all seriousness though, no, she did not, but The Weeknd is amazing and he's easy on the eye too except for that abomination he calls hair.

I was like WTF ew :wtf:

But then I read the "except the hair" part

He got really great reviews for his first three albums (which are great, go listen!) and that was what really kicked off his career as critics were sat waiting for more! :emma:

I can't tell if this thread is a joke or not but no.

He did a collab with Drake months before this remix (that no one knows about), so if we're crediting his success to an "association" with a more famous artist, then it's him. But the reality is he made his mark on his own.

I think Love Me Harder made him relevant in the mainstream

Definitely but I don't think he would've been given that opportunity if Drake didn't support him early on.

I agree with you, I'm just trying to elaborate on my original post. :green:

I'm sorry if my post about his association with Drake came across in a way that discredited him.

I know about his albums being critically acclaimed, I just believe Drake had a significant impact on The Weeknd gaining more fans. :emma:

Of course, BTW made him happen, then arianna made him relevant with their DWUW inspired single, so in the end, he truly is relevant because of gaga:hunty:

but he won't last though so who cares.

You might be right. I listened to his album from start to finish and he doesn't have another song as good as Can't feel my face on there. Whatever he releases next will be disappointing, imo

He's about to release his fifth :rip:

1. House of Balloons
2. Thursday
3. Echoes of Silence
4. Kiss Land
5. Beauty Behind The Madness

The first three are "mixtapes" but you honestly wouldn't tell. They sound AMAZING

No, not at all, I definitely wasn't saying that, nor was I referring to you at all. Drake definitely did introduce him to more people, but at the end of the day the root cause of all of that was The Weeknd's talent and music.

Whispering

It was the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack that pushed him into mainstream consciousness.
