Didymus 34,380
Now you can open that in the Entertainment Talk section. You don't need a source or anything to open a thread...or you can use some loosely based article from a while back to open a thread. That's tragic tho. But anyway, I'm sure a lot of members will love that
Kayla 7,595
You think a thread about being over Madonna is general EC? This brings up the entire problem that we used to have though If only Madonna fans are supposed to discuss in the Madonna thread, then you know that every other thread (that's not news related) is made by the people that hate her (meaning: it's flamebait). Anyway, if that's the way GGD works nowadays fine. But that's pretty ****ty if you ask me. That's not the case. Check out the new section before you make assumptions- it's meant for general discussion and threads for non-important things, like "Katy posts picture of her cat on Instagram!" or "What's your favorite non-single from Taylor?" So far it's been working out.
AgusPop 4,162
So.. that means that everyone can make a thread about being over a celebrity? Doesn't that minimize the problem of having Gaga hate threads though? I thought that's what you were battling this entire time. If that's your intention (lol) then I support that 100% I just want equality in the decisions. fair rules. My meltdown of the past days was mainly because I perceived injustices in GGD between the sections dedicated to Gaga and the Entertainments Sections
Whispering 18,865
That's tragic tho. But anyway, I'm sure a lot of members will love that There have been lots of negative threads on Taylor, if you are into that sort of thing. It's been there this whole week. We also have the Conversation area where these types of random topics get started all the time. Like "should Gaga do this in concert like Madonna does" or sometimes other random topics. We also have the Conversation area where these types of random topics get started all the time. Like "should Gaga do this in concert like Madonna does" or sometimes other random topics. The bolded part is why we made the section. We wanted to separate general conversation from conversation geared around entertainment topics. Not every thread is like that- those threads are the minority, and they're usually constructively stated. That's like saying the "Are you over Gaga?" thread was negative because a couple people said they were.

Bye 3,947
Journalism, MTV articles and the opinion of a DJ are no facts. They are simply assumptions based on what is viewable through the mainstream surface. The EDM soundscape did not spontaneously pop out of the blue after Gaga arrived into the scene, it was a growing process. EDM was spawning back to back hits through late 2007 and by 2008 it was already a flourishing trend as the biggest hits at the time were all infused with electronic sounds (you see, now this is a fact). The trend was stabilized by Gaga's meteoric rise to fame (which was the perfect scenario to lure people into believing that Gaga set the trend, because she was the biggest act at the time) along with David Guetta and The Black Eyed Peas. As for EDM being brought to the mainstream : sociologists, historians and other social scientists credited Ray of Light with bringing the genre into the mainstream. It's funny how such thing needs to be debated, you don't see rock fans claiming Nirvana did not bring alternative rock into the mainstream because Evanescence and Green Day made it trendy years after Nevermind was released. It's only pop fans that are completely clueless about their favorite genres history. Ok, let's again discredit Gaga and push forward Madonna along with calling others clueless
Kayla 7,595
You clocked me To be honest in my head I'm like "Is he ****ing serious right now?" but I tried to keep it cute as much as I could. (For more clarification on the Taylor hate in Entertainment Talk, the first page right now has 6 topics about Taylor. One praising her for singing a song about a boy with cancer, one asking if people prefer Style or Wildest Dreams, one about the Taylor/Katy feud, one for the 1989 World Tour behind the scenes videos, one for a rumor about who the Wildest Dreams video will be directed by, and one about her inviting a young pianist to her concert.) Honestly, a vast majority of the Taylor threads opened in Entertainment Talk are not negative, but instead positive, so @Whispering I don't know why you're saying they are negative. Bye 3,947
Oh my. That clock is severe.Funnily enough I don't feel clocked, I just feel as if a pretentious and negative person again repeated the same thing and imparted their biased "knowledge" to me. Like an annoying mosquito buzzing around my ear.

Whispering 18,865
Well, I definitely see things that have been said about me countless times so I decided to speak up. I never said you didn't have the right to complain, Jesus. I said that, after my own a--lysis of the facts, there is no real reason (as a response to you saying constant negativity is flamebait in itself) in my opinion.I guess I don't know who exactly you're talking about but let me tell you that that is not necessarily a kindness. I'd actually prefer you would right here and now name these members so we finally know what kind of posts we're talking about.I would discuss certain names with mods, like everyone else should do. Calling out people in posts, if you are not in a discussion with you solves nothing. When I have had an opinion different than yours, I have quoted you and stated my opinion. That's the way a forum should work.
Didymus 34,380
Funnily enough I don't feel clocked, I just feel as if a pretentious and negative person again repeated the same thing and imparted their biased "knowledge" to me. Like an annoying mosquito buzzing around my ear. Ok I agreed fully with the last part though, there are enough examples of other artists/genres that show the same dynamic. A more commercially successful artist marks the transition to the widespread familiarity with a genre, but the foundation comes from somewhere else. I think Gaga was clever enough to have foreseen it, which is why I always try to write in my posts that I don't consider it a bad thing that Gaga doesn't have all these credentials that her fans are so desperate to hang on her. Maybe that's something that's too often missing from my/our posts (could be I'm the only one who thinks that though) to avoid other people concluding that we're saying Gaga is a piece of **** artist because she didn't have a noteworthy impact on something. Anyway That's where I'm coming from. And I could 100% be wrong about everything I'm saying for sure what the hell do I know about the music industry
Jjang 2,262
Ok, let's again discredit Gaga and push forward Madonna along with calling others clueless The irony. By saying that Gaga brought EDM to the mainstream you automatically discredit Madonna. I'm just giving back the credit that you originally took away from her. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_dance_music Everything you care to know about EDM is there.
