Not once comparisons were made according to their vocal acrobatics. And obviously a person who wrote and co - produced one of the most critically acclaimed pop discographies must be talented.

You're right, I wasn't talking about their vocal abilities.

It's obvious who is more musically incline, it doesn't take a stan to draw that conclusion.

I also think it's too easy for Megastars to get writing credits. For eg. Madonna has a writing credit on Me Against The Music for writing the "Hey Britney, you say you wanna lose control..." section.

You would think that if she was actually musically talented that, after all of this time, there would be a song with "music and lyrics by Madonna."

That is why she is often credited as a second or 3rd writer. Most of time however she is credited as the main writer. Producers who worked with her on Like a Prayer, Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light said that they were shocked by her natural talent for writing and composing. As a matter of fact, she did write and produce songs by her own throughout her entire career, the most current example would "Hold Tight" from Rebel Heart, she wrote and produced that song entirely by herself.

Madonna, Diplo, Toby Gad, MoZella, Ariel Rechtshaid and MNE.
That's a lot of people to write and produce a song "entirely by herself."

Anyway, we're getting off topic. I do love Madonna.

The quality of Gaga's music is not on the backseat at all. Her music is always the first thing that is discussed among monsters. Is just that Gaga has alot more dimensions to her artistry than just music. Also, your zero impact comment is laughable. She made a big impact in music right from the beginning. Not as big of an impact as IM, but she still made an impact. Now, her comment of being the next Iron Maiden is more about about her future goal, rather than insinuating that she is already is comparable to IM. There is a reason why she said NEXT.

Compared to a metal community, the discussion about music is entirely different. The day a metal fan would ask for a GP friendly song is the day he'd be excommunicated, same for a fan who would call a basic song "experimental". And there is absolutely no real competition between bands, partly because charts don't matter a single bit. I also don't really buy the "more dimensions" thing because the overwhelming majority of her fans aren't interested in them.

Now I'd love to believe that this fanbase is heading in an ARTPOP direction but it's just not right now and Gaga is way too contradicting and ambiguous about the whole thing herself, plus I never liked how Gaga has misrepresented this fanbase as "different" in any way and how she has borrowed from metal culture (not just now, but throughout her entire career) to appear like less of a pop star. I do believe she makes an effort to slowly push her fans in a desired direction (I mean, there is no other pop artist that would ever choose Semi Precious Weapons, The Darkness and Babymetal as an opening act) but I just think it's too soon to be calling herself the next Iron Maiden just now, especially since Iron Maiden represents an entirely different process of impactful artistry.

You already know I disagree about the musical impact, I really don't believe she had any but I don't understand why that's seen as something so terrible. I think she didn't have a lot of musical impact because she was such a unique act, if anyone would ever have tried to copy her signature style of songwriting and performing they would've been called out instantly when they had a competitive spotlight on them. She sure as hell inspired smaller acts that will never become famous, but they in turn will never have any serious impact on musical culture so I don't consider that a lasting impact. But I'll just repeat: I don't consider that a bad thing. Not many artists have a lasting musical impact and artists who don't shouldn't be frowned upon. Gaga's innovative in other ways.

she produced the song entirely by herself and wrote it with these people. Just like DJ White Shadow is credited on Venus. Yeah, instead of admitting that you were wrong you use the "we are getting off topic" excuse when just a minute ago you were gladly calling Madonna untalented.

well, Madonna sells out her shows and has die hard fans too?

if you have ever been to a metal concert, the fans are so much more hardcore and into the show than any monsters or madonna stan. They don't sit there and film the whole god damn show and just stand there in the pit. They have fun, they enjoy the artist, because theyre not there to post a bunch of videos on instagram...

that is what Gaga wants.

I actualy agree with most of your points here. I hate how pop fans, including many Gaga fans, focus to much on the charts and competition. And Gaga is definitely no Iron Maiden. But I do believe that with her talent, she has the potential to be. And I think Gaga said this more to deviate the constant comparisons to Madonna, and to show us what she aspires to be. Finally, I guess we will never agree on Gaga's impact on music. Buts that's OK.

I definitely like to hear the next IM better than the next Madonna :rip: I've hated that nickname for various reasons, but surprisingly (for some, probably) because it sort of dismisses what makes Gaga unique. I mean, she isn't the next Madonna, she isn't gonna do whatever she did a few decades too late, she's gonna do something else.

But whatever. It's in human nature I guess :Chica:

Yeah people and the media always make these kind of comparisons as soon as they see something similar between two artists. But in reality, Gaga is not the next anyone, she will just be the first Gaga.

People take such stupid things seriously.

People are very literal here.

I cant believe people think Gaga's getting old? Like I dont get it, 30 is still fairly young and she hasn't even lived half her life yet. I mean since when is 30 old? nicki minaj, britney spears, carly rae jepsen, katy perry, beyonce etc are all in their 30s too and are they old? People make it seem like these women were born out of the stone age? :rip:

Also that iron maiden comment, Gaga I love you girl but :rip: and this is coming from a person that's listened and watched iron maiden concerts before becoming a gaga fan.

Some consider anyone over 30 "old," women especially face this sort of ageism very quickly. Britney for example is one who has definitely unfairly faced this at a young age. I remember people calling her washed up and "fat" at like, 26 which is crazy when you think about it.

Yeah I remember that but its just crazy that 30 is "old" to some people because a few of my friends are 30 and a little above but I don't see them as old especially I'm 22 and look older than one of them :smh:
