But sometimes I defend myself and Gaga when their getting beyond limits. People nowadays are so judgemental, that even if your a fan of any other artists you will be judged. I can't tell you the amount of arguments I've had with people who bash Gaga. I feel so heated afterwards and pissed off, like I just ran a marathon or something. I don't parade my obsession in front of them - I mean, if something happened I might mention it and they were so happy for me when I got my M&G last year and have even helped me purchase tickets for BTWB etc, they came to her show etcI don't mention it to new friends though, I just think they'll figure it out eventually and I don't think it's a topic that really needs to be disclosed, as if it's a make or break of a friendship. I put my music on in Hollister not just for me, but to also act as a signal for any other lurking Little Monsters that may be working in my store. My G.U.Y. ringtone serves the same purpose lol (also because G.U.Y. slays your faves). Good luck with that. I guess a good step is to find people who are fans of pop music in general. For example, the friends I was talking about also listen to Beyoncé, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, P!nk, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, etc. If somebody likes modern pop music, they'll most likely like Gaga too (unless they're a hater). It's really cool to be the DJ in a car ride with your friends, put on a Gaga song, and see that everyone is bopping to it. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand. When I meet new people, I try to gauge whether or not I think they like Gaga based on other details about them I gather while talking to them/spending time with them and a lot of times I find they like her to some extent and are aware of her artistry and such. One guy, however...There was a guy I was talking to, exploring mutual interest in each other, that whole thing, and I was texting him while taking a walk around my neighborhood. I was wearing my artRAVE T-shirt and some punk in giant pickup with his girlfriend drove by and made fun of me for wearing the shirt. I didn't take it to heart, but I was annoyed that he decided he had the time to do that. So I told the person I was talking to about how some jerk made fun of my shirt, and he said something to the effect of "With good reason. That woman is a lunatic." I wasn't angry at that point, but I responded with "HOW DARE YOU INSULT THE QUEEN." And he just went on and on and on about how anti-Gaga he is with his negative and slightly insulting tone, even when I straight up told him that I do like Gaga very much and would appreciate it if he would stop talking about her like that. Then we got into a fight where he tried to justify the disrespect and it was messy AF.His attractiveness went wayyyyy down after that lol. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I like her and what she has done and I listen to what I like not what someone else likes...that's why its my taste not theirs... plus I really don't care what people think of me... My sister understands the obsession since she's obsessed with k-pop. My brother's told me her music is very different than anything on the radio. My mom loves her voice. My dad, however....Back in the day, when I put on Poker Face, my dad would always make fun of the bridge part and jokingly ask if she was Indian. Smh. Also, he would call her weird and ask why she did the things she did.HOWEVER, after playing Cheek to Cheek in the car for my parents, my dad was pretty shocked to hear how well she could sing. Other friends, I just causally promote ha every chance I get. Son of Venus 473 Posted August 17, 2015 Share Posted August 17, 2015 My family knows about my obsession ( i have some lyrics and songs titles written on my walls) and don't really care.My brother is a heavy metal lover ( ) but he likes her and think she's the only good mainstream popstar.One time he was trashing Katy Perry so much for her live performances that i thought he was secretly a LM. My mother doesn't like pop music at all but she said that DWUW was one of her favorite songs and asked me to play it for her. All of my friends appreciate her talent but some trash her for her costumes,gimmicks etc.One of them still makes fun of me when i mention Gaga but she's a fan of Pitbull (didn't know these kind of people existed) and she's getting dragged hard all the time.
