Macklemore donates $1M | Robert Kraft and Sheeran donate $2M each

With everything that has happened over the last 48 hours, I want to bring the conversation back to where it belongs: to the Palestinian people who are still being killed, still living under military occupation, and still fighting for their freedom.

I will be donating the entire $1 million of my net earnings from Ed Sheeran's Loop Tour to six organizations working directly to support the Palestinian people. And I invite Robert Kraft to match my donation. Whatever we disagree about, perhaps we can agree on this: Palestinian lives are worth protecting. A Palestinian life is no less valuable than any other life on this earth.

That is what this has always been about. Not me. Not a tour. Not the headlines or the controversy. It is about Palestinians right to freedom, dignity and safety in their own homeland.

Over 74,500 Gazans have been killed since October 7, 2023. 70% of those people are women and children. Approximately 200,000 Gazans have been injured. Netanyahu continues depriving Gazans of food and other resources. But oh sure, let's pretend there is no islamophobia or genocide and claim all opposition to Netanyahu is "anti-Semitic". 🙄

Robert Kraft responded

robert-kraft-says-ed-sheeran-asked-him-t

he's feeling the heat otherwise he wouldn't make all these statements, but good that he's matching the donation (if he really does it).

Bullshit centrist 'i don't take sides' statement

"All lives are worth protecting" is pretty much "All lives matter"-ing a genocide, no actual proof or mention of where this money is going, "before Macklemore" to appear as having the upper hand, and all we've known is that this man is a zionist who's literally donated MILLIONS to AIPAC

This statement is their attempt at saving face and clearing their image. For all we know, the money is going to israeli pockets and israeli organizations and not to where it actually matters, unlike Macklemore's donations.

I agree, though, let's see if he makes the donation public to see where the money is going, otherwise he's just digging a bigger grave imo.

I just find it very entertaining that macklemore singlehandly put a billionare like kraft on his knees.  :brat:

Wait, you are right :deadbanana:

But at least it's a bit implied, I think if he and Ed don't donate to the correct people this will just get worse for them.

So, what's the problem now?

If he doesn't have any issues then just re-instate macklemore (if macklemore wants ofc), he talks about building bridges after all, Kraft needs to admit he was wrong (he already kinda attempting that in a half-assed way), Ed needs to admit he was wrong too and swallow his big ego, and this tour becomes a symbol for the palestinian cause, everything that kraft never wanted. The other openers would come back too if macklemore came back I think.

In a perfect world this would play out like this.  :vegas:

And to be clear, I know very well that kraft doesn't really believe on what he says and he's just saving face (because this will hurt his bottom line, its ALWAYS about money with these people) but there's something very satisfying in forcing the hand of a billionare like this on such an important issue.

“The region”? This statement is such a gross PR response. And ending with that? Toot your own horn I guess

Honestly even with all the messiness the fact that Macklemore just saying “Free Palestine” in a concert has actually resulted in $4 million dollars suddenly being donated with a lot of attention being paid to the issue is kind of crazy proof of how powerful and effective even a small gesture like that can actually be.

Pink probably taking credit for this as Zionists tend to do.
