Canada Publically Slams Its Own Government

In a minority government everybody is accountable. If there is a non-confidence vote it all goes back to an election again so there is a lot more interest in pleasing the other parties to avoid that. The Conservative government is not helping with jobs that much or Canadians wouldn't be headed for a recession. 

There are no idiots in government only those that find idiots to vote for them. One person does not make a government.

1 person may not make the government but were talkign about the party leader. If the NDP win he will be prime minister and ive lost track of how much non-sense he has spoken...

 

Its not just opposition parties that not surprisingly attack... most experts do not agree with his policies... but its not just his policies that bug me, its all the debunked myths people still believe that he speaks that bugs me... hes either trying to win votes that way or he actually believes them

 

and im not sure us heading into a recession can be blamed on any government...

 

We did not have a crisis as bad as other nations and our banks kept lending and didnt fail... as a result consumer spending didnt drop like our manufacturing and exports did and we become heavily reliant on consumption. Low interest rates stimulated consumer spending and real-estate even more (it didnt have that affect in many Coutnries cause banks werent lending and consumer confidence was also low)

 

our safe heaven and better economic performance also raised our currency by a lot which made exports and manufacturing suffer even more than the recession alone did...

 

As a result our economic growth has been built mostly on real-estate and consumer spending which wasnt sustainable as consumer debnt has kept growing and home prices/construction is out of control...

 

energy was our 1 export that grew robustly but now oil prices collapsed

 

I dont think it would have mattered whether it was NDP, Liberals or Conservatives ruling this Nation... the market forces that caused the imblances forcing us into recession would have been beyond the control of any of them
