Yeah I always figured that had to hurt singing that way and probably one of the reasons she never sang live. I don't think though the nasal/baby voice was quite as prominent on her first album though.

Possibly. But the question is: does she really want to at this point? She's famous for the voice she uses now (that baby voice), and any real damage (that would effect the sound) can probably be fixed with some studio magic. She doesn't sing live so it's more of a cosmetic fix than anything else at this point. I think her last album was heavy on the autotune. She could also probably go back to using old tricks like layering her back up singers heavily over her own voice if it gets to be a problem with recording. This is all assuming that her damaged voice isn't causing her any other problems (like pain).

I had hoped that she wouldn't stoop to using ghost singers, but it's her prerogative. I have such a problem with her not being allowed to have creative control at this point in her career. She's a seller. Even her flops will make a profit because she's Britney f*cking Spears, so why can't she just do what she wants? It will likely be radio friendly dance pop anyway, so let her have some creative freedom with it. At this point in her career, at this point in ANY artists career, they should be in control and taking creative risks. It's not that they can't have people around them giving constructive criticism to help them fine tune their vision, but what does she have to lose? What can people POSSIBLY say about her that they haven't been saying for years? She has her platinum albums, her memorable hits, iconic vids, massive tours, etc. She's a multi-millionaire global music entity that has probably been dragged through more mud than maybe M.J. or Madonna (I doubt anyone has been dragged more than those two). Britney survived all that and won't up and disappear and never find work again. Besides, what's the point of being in the music biz if you aren't going to try and put your own identity in your work. It's a creative industry. She clearly wants to be more in control and creative instead of some musical robot like so many others. Maybe she needs a new label and management.

She should follow her own advice, she said at the TCAs "be fearless in your choices" then she should do so and while talking about her next album she said it has some "cheeky s-xy fun stuff & some ballads" and that she worked with "amazing women". I just hope it's better than Britney Jean tbh, I want to also hear sing live before I die lol, it's the only thing left to prove, that she can sing.

I felt personally it was a very half-assed album myself, I wasn't surprised to learn she had no confidence with it. I want fearless. I want fun. Well she's getting there slowly tbh, her last couple of show in Vegas were amazing dance-wise and all.

But I totally agree about the singing live part, all it would take would be a performance like Gaga did at the oscars, only one stellar live performance, Gaga should really direct her to her voice coach.

I think putting out the exact album she wants will give us the "Old" Britney back. If it's her own material, she will do everything she can to get it out and make it look good.

If I were Britney, I would be calling Gaga right now to get recommendations. ;)

I think we are in the minority. I think if Britney got back to form, a collab with Gaga could be a lot of fun. I mean, Telephone was meant for Britney originally, and they like/respect each other. Sure, there are many, many great rock, soul, R&B, punk, etc artists that I would love Gaga to collab with, but what's the harm in a fun feature with a Pop/Dance icon? Gaga is a very diverse artist and Britney can create great shows and fun bops. Why not?
