Well, below is what Lady Gaga said and then what Jane said. Perhaps, that is what they meant:

Lady Gaga, in a white floor-length gown, deadpanned that when previous presenter Jamie Lee Curtis said her name out loud, “I snarfed an olive into my nose and there’s still a teeny, tiny piece in there.”

WE care though.  The Hollywood Foreign Press is the organization responsible for the Golden Globes. She could be nominated for TIHTY.  And hopefully even for her role in AHSH next year. She's politicking perhaps. And since when does she have to be performing at an event for US to care??  This is a Lady Gaga forum.

maybe you should just stop being a fan if you expect her to perform everywhere she goes. She's not a performance robot. She's a human who goes to events and lives her life. You do realize she has a life other than performing right? She has taylor and her family and she goes to events that meets her belief system and she does whatever she wants. Her life does not revolve around performing. It's a job and a passion.
