I'm on the fence about one thing atm too and I also can't really see how he'll be able to dismantle all of our trade agreements without some sort of retaliation from current trade partners. Either way, trade agreements have hurt the average American worker. His idea on immigration tbh I'm not necessarily in favor in a flat out open border policy, because it is unfair to those who spends months and years trying to come across legally, but I'm absolutely against the hatred that comes to those who do do it illegally and the penalization of their children? I also think that their work helps the economy, not hurt it. LoveandMagic 1,731 Posted August 11, 2015 Share Posted August 11, 2015 I agree Carly actually seems like an intelligent woman, and probably their best candidate, but at the end of the day she still sides with this radical Republican base and sucks up to Fox News, so not interested. I also read somewhere (not saying it's true) that she was responsible for 30000 lost jobs at HP, and was so bad at managing the company the descendants of the founders spoke out personally against her until she was fired, of course she walked away with a multimillion dollar severance package (but that's not unusual). Bottom line is I'm falling in love with Bernie and think she is being used as a token candidate by the Republicans, but I would like to see her go head to head against Trump. Bernie Sanders is against an open border policy. He's been criticized for that. He has suggested he supports reform that includes guest worker visas and some sort of amnesty for undocumented workers currently in the country, he doesn't support anymore future illegal immigration. So that's not a factor I'm taking into consideration while voting. I think she is great because she know what she wants and she's not going to just go with what people want to be liked. That's not what we need as a president. We need someone who will do what's write and be honest with us as a country. And not just try to make us happy. But it's hilarious to me that people flock to her and Trump, because they're "gutsy" and "they don't care what anybody else thinks." A good public speaking skills does not automatically mean they have the populace's best interest in mind. 90% of her campaign so far is either smear Hilary Clinton or bragging about her credentials as a businesswoman. The other 10% she's talking about slaughtering Planned Parenthood and other very backward policies or warmongering about the Middle East. Things Republicans can't seem to stop talking about anyway. In fact to the majority of people it doesnt even concern them really id never vote for a party based on that. To me economy, environment, diplomatic relations globally are bigger issues than whether or not they personally support marriage (and since its been mostly up to states and now courts to give rights and not federal government it seems like it doesnt even matter anyway) Republicans may be conservative for the times but Democrats have major flaws in reasoning in other areas. Its not as if Democrats are perfect on everythig and Republicans dont have their strong points. How about women's rights and the right to choose? They may not be able to reverse that decision, but what they will do is make sure there is little funding in place to help poor women and young girls. They don't believe in giving contraception for free or a low cost to the underprivileged or those under 18, but they don't believe in abortion either. How does that make sense. Several of the candidates don't even believe that a young child that is raped by a relative should be allowed to terminate the pregnancy, even if it is the wish of her and her parents. The list goes on and on...there are way too many problems with the GOP for me to vote for any one of them. If the Republican Party could ever come up with a candidate that was even remotely moderate on some of these issues, I would give them a fair look. At this point, everyone on that list is too dangerous, when looking at the advancement of human rights and equality for minorities overall. These are issues that are very important to me! These are issues that are very important to me! those are all valid points... but if i was an American id worry rven more about Democratic economic policies that could ultimately destroy Americas prosperity. Their solution is to raise taxes on rich even more (when the US already has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world, and top income bracket is almost as high as scandinavian taxes, in some cases higher because of state taxes which dont generally exist in those countries at the same level) Corporations are moving away (burger king ran away here to Canada recently) and they refuse to admit the issues... Then u get poverty and low business investment and they solve that by increasing help to poor by social programs by spending even more, instead of prioritizing in creating jobs so these struggling people can be productive while making a living for themselves... If i was an American my fav party woukd be the liberatarian... They progressive socially but right winged economically but it seems like in America only 2 parties ever get elected Here in Canada we have the PC (Progressive Conservstives) which i love. Progressive socially and right winged economically. I vote for them every time PS: u kinda proved my point. U didnt even comment on what i said about balance or about both parties not being right on everything, u just went straight to a long list of bashing for republicans without even touching at all on any potential flaws democrats might have i at least admit the things the party i dont support is better at in than the one i do support.
