djBuffoon 12,115
She'll be fine. ARTPOP fell apart because of the half-hearted promotion and lack of cohesion with her team. And even with disastrous press backlash and accusations of irrelevance that would demolish a lesser artist, she still sold as much (or more) than everyone else, gave us a smashing album, and some stunning videos/performances. Levine 23,562
If LG5 flops she's done. PERIOD.
SISTERV 3,887
People said the same thing about ARTPOP. Honestly, the fact she has not had a number one since 2011 and she still gets major attention shows that she has already concreted herself as a legend. Gaga is a not just a musician but a cultural icon. People will always discuss and refer to her.
Creyk 17,805
If LG5 flops she's done. PERIOD.I agree. But if she became a lesser star (you know what i mean, she would still have fans but not a superstar anymore) maybe she would give us more music and faster and she would become more approachable, so it wouldn't be the end of the world. If Katy or Rihanna received half of the media backlash their album's and interest would tank into ambivalence. Gaga received more criticism than any other artist has since Britney in 2007 and her album still outsold Miley by 500k and was just shy of Katy Perry's best first week sales ever. Economy 49,536
TBH yes and anyone who says otherwise is delusional... She will always have her fans so her career will never be totally dead. She can tour and sell some albums with fans alone However, spend too many yearrs without popularity or hits for the GP and it becomes extremely difficult to ever regain it That happens over and over and over again in the music industry. giskardsb 12,565
This thread reminding me why I hate the pop industry. Gaga should just go Indy, make any music she wants, including her own brand of pop, hit Broadway, and explore everything she wants too. Leave the commercial pop sales oriented crap to whatever marginal talents Disney wants to keep throwing out there.
MiMiMonsterx3 16
LG5 won't make or break her career. She will always have her career since her Little Monsters are the most loyal than any other fan base out there and we will always support her, buy her albums and her show tickets. But during ARTPOP she became less of a superstar. The general public was not interested in her as much as they were during The Fame Monster. So I think she really needs this to be a cohesive, relatable pop album with lots of hits to get back on top again. The album won't end her career but it will determine if the public will be fans of her too or if all she has is her same Monsters going to all her shows and buying her albums. And I think she needs to release 2-3 amazing singles before the album comes out in order to have good first week sales (like she did during the BTW countdown). People aren't going to buy a new album of hers after calling ARTPOP a flop (I personally liked it though) so she's gotta introduce new music before the album is released so when people like the singles her album sales will be successful. gagabro 268
In terms of arena touring and commercial success, yes. She'll always have a market though. She needs a good love / breakup song on this album. That's why Taylor tends to slay.

Lee Ng 1,490
Its okay if she flops... Tony will save her again. Tony will be all again like " don't worried Lady , you're just a sophisticated Lady "
giskardsb 12,565
cringe is her past work crap?of course not. But commercial pop is too concerned with sales and success, and for some reason that bleeds into the fan base. I'd prefer to see what Gaga would do unfettered by commercial concerns. Success and sales mean nothing to me in regards to Gaga as an artist.
aquaprincess 23
i think it is. as far as the GP goes anyway. i'll still stan for her regardless, as long as the music's good to me. but i think if this record flops, the GP will move on...

Bette Davis 12,742
No, say she releases two more mediocre albums (god forbid) then releases a killer one in 5 years, people aren't going to be like 'shoot she had those two ****ty albums so lets ignore this great one.' Fortunately I think she's got everything set up to release a killer album. She's gotten praise from so many legendary artists, cemented her reputation as legitimately talented, even the media is on her side again which I never thought would happen. All she has to do is deliver some major bops and she is golden. Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.
