Why is Mary Jane Holland so underrated?

The song is flawless and unbelievably amazing. It should be praised more often and should have been a single for ARTPOP! I think it would have been a top 5 hit.

No songs on ARTPOP except for DWUW are any good till this day.

i don't think it would have done any better than any of the other songs because her team didn't give her the right type of promo, people loved Do What U Want

I really love it, but I don't think that it would have done well as a single.

I don't find it underrated at all, I've seen a lot of praise to that song.

But yes, is a gem. Maybe not a good single choice, but one of the best of the album.

I don't think it's single-worthy, but it was one of my hands-down favorites on my first listen of the album, and it still is.

I love MJH but to honest, it took me a while to really appreciate it. I think people see it as a "filler". I actually hate using that word especially in a Gaga context cause I don't believe Gaga would put less importance on any of her songs,  but that's besides the point. Gaga didn't mention the song too much as well on any promotional campaigns and I don't believe she hyped it too much. Plus, it's position on the album is near Swine and Donatella, two of the more heavy edm tracks.  After hearing these songs in close proximity, the edm might all blend together making one song a little more forgettable depending on the fans taste. But nonetheless,  MJH is indeed an underrated gem.

it is my favourite song on ARTPOP purely because of the flawless bridge... such an epic moment, sounds like something from a musical, sometimes I listen to it just for the bridge :lolly:

The ARTPOP that was before interscope watered it down would probably have so much more fillers and unforgettable vibes, ARTPOP is an amazing album but the only song that I can stand to listen to is DWUW and maybe applause...the DJWS electrotech remix.

Mary Jane Holland turned into a real favorite of mine after seeing it at artRAVE. The whole electro cabaret aspect of it is awesome and trippy. It's a very solidly produced song as well with some killer backing vocal experimentation!
