Redstreak 6,653
As the Oscars and VMAs well know, any awards show that names the best of the best each year is opening itself up for plenty of criticism. The Grammys are no different. Sometimes that criticism is valid, but other times, it comes from a place of misunderstanding (Directioners and Beliebers frequently rail against perceived Grammy snubs over songs/albums that weren't even eligible in the first place.) Well, the Recording Academy is looking to pull back the curtains on the organization and help "demystify the awards process," according to a press release for a new video series called Grammy 101. The debut episode is a must-watch for anyone who's ever wondered how Grammy nominations come about, who votes on what, and how you go about joining the process. Unclear about the eligibility period? Uncertain how you submit music for Grammy consideration? This three-minute clip covers it all (including the upcoming July 31 deadline, at which point people need to register or renew in order to submit selections for the next Grammys). Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Red 98,224
I'm glad they clarify these things to everyone. I am still bitter about many stuff that happened in previous years though. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.
LoveandMagic 1,731
What people don't understand is just being nominated (or asked to perform) is a huge honor! It means the committee thought well enough about the artists work to have it showcased or considered for the "album of the year" title. Sometimes I agree with the awards, sometimes I don't, but I don't take it so personally like some do. We all want our favorite artists to win because most really put a ton of effort and thought into their art, unfortunately there can only be one winner. That's life. For instance, I def felt BTW was Grammy worthy, but I'm not throwing a fit because it didn't win. Adele put out great music too. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
