Luiz 4,253 Posted July 20, 2015 Share Posted July 20, 2015 on topic: i think this might be the killer for trump because as much as republicans seem to love trump a lot of them hate him for making the GOP into a complete joke and now a lot of the republicans who supported him will have a really hard time defending him when talking to those in the party who hate him. supporting the troops is a huge thing for conservatives and whether they like mccain or not they would never think of diminishing his status as a war hero. i'm still hoping he goes for it on his own with maybe ted cruz as a VP. the few republican voters who still believe in him will vote for him and hurt the real republican candidate's chance of being elected I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. In a pointless war (as most wars are) but still...he was a P.O.W. ffs I do think Trump had a point when he got around to talking about the G.O.P.'s and most Conservative views on veterans, though. For the group that loves to send our family and friends into "enemy" borders as fodder for their own political gain (or gain of another kind) they sure do have a backwards view when they come home with PTSD, other mental disabilities and physical disabilities, then they try to collect welfare, social security, or disability and they're "leeches on society". Trump is acting fake and isn't being true to himself, you have it all backwards. He is a troll. He doesn't actually believe what he is saying, he is manipulating the political system in order to raise his public profile. There is a difference between Trump and someone like Chris Christie. Christie is a tell-it-like-it-is politician who expresses his political beliefs in a rude and curt way.
